I’ve spent quite a few days working in this library this summer. It’s located along Lakeshore, with Free parking access available from Stavebank and if driving west along Lakeshore. The parking is capped at 3 hours but I have yet to have a problem parking any longer. It’s not a large library by any means with everything essentially crammed into one large(well subdivided) room. The WiFi is free compliments of the City of Mississauga and offer have a fair number of computer terminals for the computer-less. Everything about this building apears fresh and new, and the décor is ultra-modern(for a library) with unique chairs and a good number of plugs available. Where this place loses a few points with me is in it’s available washrooms AND the small size. There are only 2 restrooms, both of which being single stall family focused which is cause for a long line up if two families are occupying them for 20 minutes at a time. As for my issue with size, this building could stand to have a second level to separate the screaming kids in the childrens section from those working or quietly reading. I love kids, but parents, lets not forget what the ONE rule of a library is… SHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Kids are loud I get it and it can’t be helped at times, but if you just let them«express themselves» without even a small suggestion to turn the volume down — well then…(insert disapproving stare from across room). Easy fix would be to put some sort of doorway between the kids section and rest of library, open concept is a nice idea and a great idea in a bigger space. Anywhoo — still a great place to get work done, I’ll be back many times :)

I personally haven’t been inside of this library, but it was recently renovated within the last coupla years in a mid-century modern style. Complete with the MCM furniture to match and lotsa floor-to-ceiling windows! Also lovely in the evening ’cause it has an interesting lighting scheme with some linear LEDs bordering the building. It’s a single floor, much smaller & quieter library, so if this is nearby, avoid the noisy Central Library. I’ve been meaning to visit here, take advantage of the free wifi, when the temps rise, and it’s not physically possible for me to study at home, but haven’t had the opportunity yet! Maybe this Summer?
