Dolled Up Cupcakes

As a home baker who frequents the Betty Crocker boxes, I can appreciate the care it takes to make these delicious cupcakes from scratch. Yes, a bit expensive but worth it overall. Not going to lie, I may or may not have shared a dozen minis with a friend during a chick flick… I regret nothing!

We stopped by after work to get cupcakes for our anniversary the next day. The owner was very pleasant and asked us the occasion, gave us complimentary anniversary tags for the cupcakes. Regarding the flavor, it was the first time we have tried Dolled Up Cupcakes and trust me, they are worth every penny. The cream is light and an absolute delight to taste. We had ordered chocolate chip, red velvet and strawberry/​vanilla cupcakes and would definitely try more flavors again!

This place is certainly the gem of the Meadowvale Town Centre. I have been a regular customer since they opened and have yet to try one of their flavors that I wouldn’t have a second time although their banana has me totally in love it is always hard to decide to ignore their signature Red velvet as well. The store is owned and run by the cutest couple Jane and Michael who maintain a spotlessly clean and nut free environment and are always warm and welcoming when you visit. They are very active on social media and should you chose to follow one or more of those accounts you can clearly see that Jane is a very talented cake designer as well as her creations are often posted for all to see. The custom cakes are not the only variation from the standard daily cup cake selection as at customer request will also change up their standard cc/​frosting combination. If your in the area stop in and try a few, you won’t be disappointed!

I have gotten cupcakes form here a few times and everyone always says oh what? That’s so expensive or I can make them at home… ON NO you cant’! Haha they do only about 8 – 10 flavors but they do them so well!
Personal favorites are their cookie and crème and red velvet. Their cream cheese icing is so on point. Their cakes are always moist and the icing to cake ratio is perfect… for me :) Icing lover!
The shop is pretty and I feel elated every time I step in and smell the sugar hanging in the air. The people who own or operate the store are very nice and always courteous. One day maybe I’ll get an actual cake from them for a special event, the ones they have on display looks awesome.

I love these cupcakes because they taste fantastic and aren’t toooo sweet. I’ve already bought from them on many occasions and if you’re curious you should definitely try them out!

Just saw this place new to the neighbourhood in the past year or so. 2^nd time seeing it so I had to go in and try of course.
Always get red velvet when possible.
The icing isn’t exactly cream cheese as I’m used to but I found it okay to say the least.
The cupcake itself was moist and yummy all the same.
Prices are even a little cheaper as compared to some places situated in Toronto.
It’s a cute boutique and I wouldn’t mind visiting again when I go to get my hair done again.

The best cupcakes in Mississauga. Period. We had the Red Velvet and these special «cupcake pops». Ah-​maz-​ing.

Really delicious cupcakes, and worth it for the price! For their regular cupcakes a single is $ 2.75, ½ dozen is $ 16.00 and 1 dozen is $ 30.00. Honestly if I lived closer I would probably come here everyday, these cupcakes really are the perfect sweetness and fluffyness, and it’s a plus that the staff are very friendly!

At Dolled Up Cupcakes, husband and wife proprietors Mike and Jane have set the bar higher than it’s ever been before for this delicious little treat. Other cupcake shoppes in the GTA ought to pay attention if they are to compete on their level.
Established about 2 years ago, I’ve seen the popularity of Dolled Up Cupcakes sky rocket to a level where they are churning out hundreds of cupcakes a day only to be sold out by the day’s end. On my most recent visit, I saw a few stacks of big boxes that could hold a few dozens of cupcakes at a time for a customer corporate order.
And it’s very apparent as to why the moment one bites into a cupcake from this cupcake shop.
Light, fluffy and decadent, with none too much of grease that plagues other cupcake bakeries. The frosting, fresh and perfectly balanced that it does not overwhelm you. The classic, red velvet and cookies and cream, the best I ever had. A lot of care has gone into baking these fresh treats daily, and it shows. No matter what flavor you choose, you are guaranteed to enjoy it. Lastly, their chocolate cupcakes, somehow is just balanced with the right amount of sweetness and chocolate taste. I could eat these for days and not get tired of them.
It’s hard to find another cupcake bakery anywhere in the GTA with the high quality that Dolled Up Cupcakes has set. Definitely stop by once or twice, maybe more if you ever get the chance!

Unexpectedly amazing little find in Meadowvale. This place has the most delicious cupcakes ever. They are moist with a little crunch on the top. The icing is always flavorful and fresh. I must have gained 10 lbs in two months since discovering this place. There isn’t much space to sit and enjoy your cupcake but the place is cute. Highly recommend.
They hold a place in my heart the way Crumbs in NYC did before it shut down. They are actually better.

This is on the top of my list for desserts. The cupcakes are moist and delicious. Lots of different flavours to pick. My favourites are baileys chocolate (didn’t know you can have alcohol in your cupcakes. It’s awesome.), rainbow bright, hint of mint and red velvet. Their cupcakes got both the look and taste.
They have daily specials. Call ahead to reserve to make sure they still have your favourites.
They also take custom orders for wedding, birthday and other special occasions. Check out their works on Instagram and facebook. Their cakes are so pretty.
Price is good. This place is a bit far from my home, but it’s definitely worth the drive lol.

I ordered a dozen cupcakes to be delivered to my cousin in Milton. The ordering process was so smooth and effortless. Dolled up cupcakes delivered beautiful and tasty cupcakes with a cute little card to congratulate my cousin on her engagement. It was perfect and I heard delicious!

One of my top favorite cupcake stores and one of the better looking stores. I have been a huge supporter since day one. Highly recommend the Red Velvet & Vanilla Bean!

Whenever someone mentions mini-​cupcakes, I immediately think of Kevin Malone (from The Office) saying, «Mini-​cupcakes? As in the mini version of regular cupcakes? Which is already a mini version of cake? Honestly, where does it end with you people?»
My future sister-​in-​law had me run in to Dolled Up Cupcakes (DUC) and get fifteen mini-​cupcakes. I kept asking, «Are you sure you want the mini? Not the regular? You’re sure? I mean, how sure are you sure? Because they’re really… Mini.»
But she wanted her mini-​cupcakes. The prices are comparable to everywhere else I suppose (I don’t really know about GTA cupcake prices, but they’re similar to what I’ve seen in other cities). It was $ 1ish ($ 1.30 or thereabouts) for a mini-​cupcake. I ended up ordering eighteen. Because they were so mini.
I picked various flavors in multiples of three (Red Velvet, Hint of Mint, Raspberry Bliss, and a few others that I can’t remember). I didn’t get to try each of the flavors that I purchased, but I was impressed with the three (or four… or five) I did try. Stop judging me! They were mini!
They’re sweet, but not overly so. Not super dense or as moist as I normally prefer my cake to be, but not dried out and crusty either. They were soft, light, and the flavors were on point. And they looked nice. And mini, so in my mind, it was healthy. And since I had three (or four… or five) of them, I was really healthy that day.
Honestly, I can’t think of anything to complain about DUC. They accept credit cards, which made me very happy because I don’t have one of those Interac cards that you Canucks use for everything. The owner was a really chill guy; my friend and I ended up conversing with him for a bit about his business, and how/​why he moved to Toronto from America. It was because of a girl. It always is. Nice guy. He made the experience even more enjoyable. Anything involving dessert (mini or otherwise) is already enjoyable, so his customer service was just… [puts on sunglasses] Icing on the cake.

Good cupcakes but some cupcake shops just give you a craving and you have to keep coming back (shout out to Limestone City Cupcakery in Kingston. haven’t lived there for a year and a half and I still think about their cupcakes all the time).
I love mini cupcakes and I would probably go here more often if I could buy a single mini. I really don’t need 6.
Bonus points because the first time I bought 6 minis the owner gave me an extra one for free since it was my first time visiting.

Dolled Up Cupcakes is one of the best bakeries in the GTA… and it’s nut-​free. Since my first visit in April, I’ve been coming here every once in a while to treat myself and whenever I have a gathering with friends/​family.
The shop is nicely decorated and it feels very welcoming. Mike is always there to greet his customers with a smile.
I love that you can always check on their Facebook page to see what flavours are available that day and you can call them ahead of time to reserve whatever you like.
Their cupcakes are very moist, and their butter cream/​frosting is always nice and fluffy. Best of all, it’s not too sweet. (I have an incredibly sweet tooth but I still find a lot of other bakeries make their cupcakes way too sweet.) I’ve tried about half their flavours and so far, my favourite is green tea… no doubt. Cookies & cream, s’mores please, piña colada, and pumpkin spice are worth mentioning too.
It may be a little pricey but it’s truly a nice treat every now and then. (If it was less expensive, I may visit Dolled Up Cupcakes a little more than my wallet and body would like me to…)
It’s also nice to know that whatever is left at the end of the day is donated to local shelters (and I believe after-​school programs too).
