ZEROSTARS! We have purchased so many pairs of glasses over year from this optical centre it’s sad that I have to write this review on them. Fanny(the manager of the store– the one with crooked teeth smile) knows us personally and has taken care of us over the last few years. A few years ago, things were well — quality of designer frames were great, lenses were great, service great. The quality, of everything has been going downhill over these years unfortunately. I buy only designer frames and lenses: Gucci or Prada frames, which run 250 – 400CAD easily, and Nikon 5 lenses, which are about 300 – 350CAD easily. With edge polishing, and shipping to the US, you can see that the total cost of my eyeglasses add up to over $ 600 easily. That’s JUST my glasses. My family members also buy from this place, so imagine — at one time, we spend several thousand dollars a pop. Fanny and her staff has NOT taken any care to ensure that her merchandise is of good quality. This last time, her Gucci frame that I bought from her fell apart from the end — she used CRAZY glue to put it back together. Also, the NIkon 5 lenses that I purchases was not correctly soldered or cut to fit the frame, causing the edges to actually CUT the frames on the side. I could not wear the eyeglasses, and had to bring them back to Canada, and have their SIFU(Chinese for eyeglass professional maker) redo their frames/lenses again and recut them to fit). Not only did he redo them, they were extremely rude and unwelcoming. We had to make a special trip. The Optical Centre is OWNED and Operated by Michael Miu Kiu Wai, a HK Actor and his wife which we met two years ago when he visited Toronto. He would be upset i’m sure he read this review and heard the terrible experience we had. This is really hard for me to do write this. But it’s easy for me to say that I WILLNEVERGOBACK to the OPTICALCENTRE for another pair of glasses ever again. You screwed up my glasses, and expect me to patron your store again? I’ll spend my thousands at one of the other dozens of other eyeglass stores in Pacific Mall. Last I checked, you didn’t have a single person in your store, but all your competitors had people browsing in the stores and buying/ordering stuff. That says a lot about what Optical Centre lacks in terms of values and quality. Buh Bye!
