They may not have a wide selection of brands but it’s definitely more spacious than its sister company, Ivan Optical.
I come here quite often so they recognize me whenever I walk in. Margaret and Mason are both very friendly and they are willing to sit down to pick the right glasses for you. Even if they don’t have it in store, they’ll walk over to Ivan to grab it for you. They’ll also order online if there is a specific model that is not available in store.
Mistakes do happen but they are willing to fix it sooner than later. I never get attitude from them.
This is by far the best Optical Store in York Region. I always recommend them to family, friends and coworkers. They were never disappointed. It’s definitely better than those at Pacific Mall.

This store has a great selection but unfortunately they are very unprofessional.
I bought several lenses from them and had to go back three to four times on each of them because they would regularly get the prescription wrong.
The refuse to honor warranties and the owner is an antagonist.

One of the best optical store I been to. I have always been going to Pacific Mall but I decided to try out First Markham Place since it is much closer to home. First store I went to was this store, my mom and I were very impress with their service. Shelly. sales associate, helped us and very friendly. She asked what I was looking for and she made sure I checked with my employer insurance and she will do her best to fit within my budget. I went around to check other Optical stores but never found a good professional sales associate like Shelly. Few days after, I went back to her and brought my boyfriend and his family to get some more business for her.

By far the best eyewear store I’ve been to. I plan on revisiting for all of my future glasses purchases.
Although it appears at first glance to simply be another eyewear store in the mall, Optical Trend stands out for its excellent selection and amazing service. The salesman, Leo, is incredibly friendly and professional. Not only did he help me find the perfect pair of glasses within minutes, he worked well within my budget to ensure I could actually afford the choices he brought me.
Having browsed through many other stores in the mall beforehand (including Ivan Optical, which has outstanding Unilocal ratings as well), I can safely say that Optical Trend offered the same designer brand for the lowest price — over $ 100 below all other competition.
Overall, I was very impressed with this purchase!

So I went to optical trend after going to their sister company Ivan optical.
I ordered several pairs of lenses from Zeiss and each and every time I ordered a pair they got it wrong.
I probably spent around $ 100 dollars in gas alone on the amount of times I had to go back.
They got the PD of the prescription wrong several times on one order, for this I went back four times, the coating on another lens had failed and they told me that they could not help me and I was stuck so I contacted the manufacture of whom I had a two year warranty with and they dealt with Optical Trend and I received the warranty.
After they got the pd wrong they tightened the lenses to tight and the lenses chipped on the sides where the knot meets the wire, they replaced these too.
Even on the warranty replacement I had to go back and forth to drop of a small die to cut the lens but even then they couldn’t do the work from the die and I had to go back again.
One of the women who works there got a little frustrated and rude after I explained to her that I didnt want to come back and they could wok of the die, she spouted that they where professionals and I had to quickly corrected her on that fact.
I have to say that the assistant manager is really nice and tried hard but unfortunately I will never go back to them as I do not believe in my opinion that they are professional enough to handle custom orders.
It is more hassle to deal with these people then it should be, there are other companies out there that can get it right the first time as far as I am concerned and I intend to use them instead of Ivan Optical or Optical Trend.
I originally dealt with Ivan optical but the first frame I took in for lenses happened to have snapped, I think they tightened the wire for the frame around the lens to hard, either way I have no proof so I just went to Optical Trend only later to find out from the staff that its the same company.

I had been patron of another optical shop for more than 10 years and realized it was time for a change. A friend of ours recommended us to Optical Trend, and immediately we were warmly greeted by Leo.
Leo is very friendly and willing to help me find the perfect frame and lenses. Albeit I can be very picky, he was extremely patient from the beginning of the process to the end. He explained everything thoroughly and I ended up with a designer Tom Ford frame and lenses which are just awesome!
I highly recommend this place for your eyewear needs and suggest you all look for Leo! The have the best selection, prices and people!

Optical Trend is located in Markham Mall, on Highway 7, just east of Woodbine Ave. It is one of at least 10 optical stores located in the mall, so it is THE place to go when looking for eyewear.
After looking at 100’s of frames in different stores, I wandered aimlessly into this store thinking to myself, «They’ll have the same old thing that everyone else has». Boy, was I wrong. Their selection was one of the best in the mall… and the items were different than the usual fare. On top of this, they will work within your budget to help you get the biggest bang for your buck.
If you’ve been out shopping for eyeglasses in the last 10 years, you’ll realize that your vision benefit provided by your employer is so low that it will only allow you to buy the cleaning solution, this is the place to go.
I fell instantly in love with a pair of frameless Tag Hauer glasses… until I saw the price… over $ 850 ! Ouch ! Who knew something so small could cost so much?
Anyways, the person I was dealing with, a young buck name Leo, explained that they could take the style of the glass and put it on a different frame… it would look exactly the same… save the designer label. As I already had an overpriced pair of Prada glasses, I decided to go the cheaper route. Leo explained the process, took my eye measurements and gave me a turnaround time of a week. He was a pleasure to deal with.
The finished product is better than I had hoped… and unless you can fit yourself between my head and the arm of the glasses… you would have no idea that they’re not Tag Haurs! LOL
