Went here to get a soft brown to blonde baylayge. Have never coloured my hair, and so I wanted to start with something subtle. Showed her a few pictures and she advised that she would be able to do it, and that it would be easy because I’d never processed my hair before. SIX hours later, I had to pay $ 250 for a shoulder length bob and brassy blonde/orange. It looked like I died my hair a brassy orange colour and was having serious root issues. DONOT consider their instagram account to be a good reflection of their work.

I normally get my hair cut at cheap places like Top Cuts etc since I thought that going to nicer salon wouldn’t make a difference. I’m wrong. I took a chance last year to get my hair cut there and loved my layered hair cut. It costed my about $ 50 before tax and tip. I recently went to get a trim and balayage. It took about 3 hours and the results came out exactly what I was looking for. It costed me about $ 210 before tax. The hairdressers are professional and friendly. The salon is also at a convenient location for me. The prices aren’t cheap but comparible to many salons. I will still go to the cheaper places if I wanted a basic trim but will return when I need a stylish do.

I came here for an ashy blonde balayage and showed pictures of what I specifically wanted. I told the lady that I had not coloured my hair before and she said that it was fine. I would have appreciated if at the start of the appointment, she had told me that the colour I wanted would not be achievable. During the process, she kept saying how great it’ll look and how it’ll match the colour of the picture I showed her. When she rinsed, it came out copper/orange and was NOT what I asked for or wanted at all. I was not happy and I kept insisting that it wasn’t what I wanted and after a while, she finally agreed to do another process to get it closer to what I asked for. The owner who is also the front-desk lady said that another process would be $ 30 more. I was not happy about that but I wasn’t about to walk out of there with nasty copper hair and horrible ombré(not even balayage). Other salons I know will not charge additional for mistakes that they made. In the end, she added another $ 40 to my quoted fee, which is more than what she told me. It was only $ 10 more which is fine, but it’s the principle behind trying to rip me off with charging more than what she had said. The final colour after 2 processes was closer to what I wanted but still not what I asked for. 4 hours had passed by then and I was over it, so I just wanted to be done with it. I got my hair cut and styled after the processing. The cut was good, but the styling was not that good. I asked for big thick curls and it was like she didn’t know what she was doing. I was so tempted to grab the iron out of her hands and do it myself. Overall, this salon is a little scummy and unprofessional, will overcharge you, and will add more fees to the quote they give you. They won’t advise you beforehand if they can’t do what you ask for, and they clearly don’t know the difference between ombré and balayage, as they’ll give you ombré if you ask for balayage. They’ll start working on your hair first so that you already owe them money. It ended up costing me $ 250 which is way too expensive for a horrible job. If I had known it would turn out like this and would cost this much, I would’ve went to the salon that my friend recommended to me for less than $ 300(I’d rather pay more for something I know I’d love and would not be charged more than the quoted price). To add injury to insult, about two weeks after, the salon posted a photo on their Instagram and they filtered it so much that the colour did NOT look like what the actual results were!

I had a master stylist named TK. He seemed to know what he was doing and was very patient and precise with his technique. I came in asking for an ash blonde/silver balayage ombré. I showed him the picture and he said that he will try his best to get me to that colour but it would be difficult because of my asian hair and the fact that it was colour before. Before we began he asked me about what I wanted. And I told him that I wanted my hair to be like the picture but that I understood the colour will probably not be exactly the same. He then threw some words about s’ombré and balayage and blending. To be honest, I didn’t really understand what he was talking about as I don’t usually get my hair done at a salon. I just said do whatever you need to do to make it look good with my skin tone. That was my own fault. I should’ve stuck to the fact that I wanted my hair to look as much as the picture as he could do it. He did one process — it took 2 hours for him to do this. When he finally rinsed it, most of my hair was a brassy orange/yellow — he said I would need to do another process in order to get the right blonde for my colour. So he put the toner in and I ended up getting something that I didn’t envision — through my own fault because of our miscommunication and misunderstanding. It wasn’t ugly but it wasn’t the ombré I wanted. The entire process took 6 hours — they said it would take 3. It would have been nice if we were offered coffee or something as we did our hair for that many hours but perhaps they’re just not the type of salon to do that? They did offer crackers after we kept saying how hungry we were(6 hours later when we were almost done). As a stylist, I really liked him. Perhaps if I was more outspoken and firm with what I wanted, we could have achieved the ombré. I left the salon feeling okay about the entire appointment. The hair looked decent in their dark lighting. It wasn’t til I got home that I couldn’t sleep and started to feel like the«balayage» that he did was really something that I didn’t like on me. On one side it looked pretty good because it was blended so well with my natural hair. But on the other side it looked like chunks of highlights. It didn’t blend as nice and it just looked bad. I found out later in order for me to correct it and get the ombré that I wanted, I would have to pay closely to $ 200 or more. I can understand that, especially as other salons usually charge that for balayage if we were to start from the bottom up. But as a customer that wasn’t too happy with the colour I was hoping that the owner Ayeesha would have made arrangements to do it for cheaper or give a deal. I wouldn’t mind going back to TK and getting my hair done again by him as I feel like he really cares about his customers. My lesson in this is I should be more verbal and firm with what I have in mind — lesson learned.

I’m not happy. Booked an appointment to see the aesthetician and then got a call as I was walking out the door to say that she left for the day! What’s the point of making an appointment? So I can’t really review their services because I haven’t had any. Nor will I.
