lack of customer service and politeness. the chinese lady wearing glasses was quite rude as i was trying to take a picture of the beautiful hello kitty display to show my friends. she said, «hey! no pictures!!!» in a rude tone and manner. she obviously has not learned to be polite to customers. there was no sign indicating no pictures were allowed, so i thought it was alright. but i did not think it was necessary for her to practically yell at me and have no professionalism whatsoever. i hadn’t even stepped foot into the store yet, and her rudeness and lack of greeting already repelled me from the establishment. didn’t even bother going in after that. took my business elsewhere. highly do not recommend. i’ve dealt with better staff in other stores in toronto that sell the same type of products

Smart Maple is located inside Market Village which is next to Pacific Mall. This is a kids store with the cutest Asian cartoon based items, meaning that you’ll find a lot of Hello Kitty, My Melody, Domokun based stuff. They carry a tone of adorable stuffed animals, other toys, stationary, bags, mugs etc.
I found some cute Hello Kitty hair clips, bear pillow, Domokun backpack and sparkling jewellery box for my friend’s little girls. For myself I found a neat mini storage box with elegant designs for my bedroom. For a medium size I paid $ 15.99 which was awesome compared to other storage places I was looking at. I grabbed some cute Hello Kitty hair bands too ($ 2.99). for myself. Shut up!
The staff here is very helpful and quick with transactions which I like. The store itself is a bit cramped but it’s well organized and clean. The prices are reasonable and I would defiantly recommend this place especially if you’re looking for gifts for kids who like Asian cartoons and comics.
