Photobook Canada

I’ve done numerous other online photobooks and Photobook Canada is, by far, the worst company I have ever used! The online editing program is horrible and extremely time consuming. It is very limited with options for backgrounds, layouts, colour selections, frames and embellishments. You can’t multi-​select photos so you have to edit each photo separately (ie frames, size of picture). There is no option for alignment and that makes for a very long and tedious process with photo layouts. It took me almost 20 hours of editing to make a 60 page/​300 photo album!
I ordered 3 books of the same design. I purchased 3 coupons through the Photobook Canada site ($ 29.99 each) and had to enter each item separately plus pay $ 13.55 for shipping for each book. My books arrived quickly (4 days), which was very nice, but they did come together, all in one package from Malaysia. So, they’re making a profit on shipping and, if you think you’re supporting a Canadian business, you are mistaken.
The pages of the book and the printing was good however, the binding is of poor quality. The hard cover was warped on all 3 books and the spine didn’t seem to fit the pages properly. I called customer service and the girl that answered was cold and directed me to submit an online complaint. I tried several times to upload the photo and complaint (through my desktop computer and my phone) but it would not go through.
I will absolutely NEVER use Photobook Canada again!

Cant say anything bad about the photo book itself but thats once it got here… I fought tooth and nail to get it delivered by christmas eve last year. Phonebook canada will not respond to any issues took me forever to get it since they sent it to the WRONG ADDRESS. Wasn’t impressed! Just ordered another one and they say they are billing the shipping address I gave them and shipping it to the wrong address once again this is a christmas present. Don’t know why I bother besides the price. Not worth the trouble

I made a calendar for my mom’s 60^th birthday. I used a coupon so the calendar was only $ 12.99 plus shipping. The company helped rush the printing process and mailed the calendar quickly so that I could present it as a gift. They also have helped extend tge expiry on 2 other photobooks I have that I haven’t finished yet, they are willing to go the extra mile for customer satisfaction. Emailing them is the best way to reach them and they usually will back to you within 3 business days. Have had a great experience and the final products are always breathtaking. These photobooks are such a great keepsake. Love mine!

I ordered a medium landscape hardcover as a gift for my mum… It was delivered 2 weeks after the website’s delivery date after lots of follow ups. The shipping was returned to me however, but was not at all worth the stress as my mum was about to leave and had to be delivered on time.
I am also not satisfied with the cover, it is a dull and dark version of a relatively high resolution picture… Not at all what you’d expect from a photo album which has bold colourful pages inside…

I printed two books both with the exact same images, one from Photobook Canada as they had a coupon and I used that book for our office and one from Pikto for our personal use. The Pikto book images were sharp, crisp and clear and the Photobook Canada images did not have the same colour or clarity to them. Won’t be using Photobook Canada again!

I wanted to make a photo book and compared prices and read reviews before I decided on Photobook Canada. There was a Groupon for varying sizes of books and costs. I decided on a Groupon for a the 11×8.5 landscape book for 40 pages.
After purchasing, I received a code and instructions on how to redeem the coupon. At first I put in the code and then set up an account. They have various ways to create a book; downloading software which is great for photos larger than 5MB, online designer, and online templates for various occasions. I choose the online designer so I could create my own design with my photos.
I started to go though my photos and decided which ones I wanted to use for my book. The uploading of photos was pretty quick and I soon realized I would need more photos that I had. So I went and added more photos. What I didn’t really like was that it wasn’t always easy to find the photos I wanted to use as there was panel on the left side and I would scroll down to find more photos.
The menu at the top had options for layout, background, scrapbook, mask, add photo box, add text box, autofill, and snap. I liked that each page I could design a layout with how I wanted to the photos to sit on the page, and resize the boxes. Sometimes, resizing would cut images in the photo so I had to play around to make sure the layout ideal for which photos and how many I wanted on the page. I would likely have done it differently and put more photos on each page as I didn’t use have any text or cute images from the scrapbook collection. I liked the background option so I could change the colour of each page. I choose each page to have a black background but there were many colours to choose from.
From start to finish, the book took me about 4 – 5 hours to make in 2 days. When it was time to order, I entered my Groupon code and the price of the book was only for the shipping which was $ 11.99 plus GST.
I was emailed a code which allowed me to see each stage of the creation of the book until shipping. I was also sent a tracking code and could see the book was shipped from Malaysia on Monday. It arrived at my door Thursday afternoon. Not bad as it took about a week from the time that I ordered the book.
I was happy with how the book turned out. The quality is good and I liked how I could create an image wrap on the cover of the book and customize the back of the book too. I would order a Groupon again if I wanted another photo book as they make a great gift. Without a coupon, there might be cheaper options that offer a similar product.
