Specialties

Ironworks is a micro distillery housed in the old Blacksmith Shop in the historic village of Lunenburg. Using only local produce we create fine spirits; Vodka and Brandies from apples, Fruit eaux-de-vie from Pears, Peaches, Raspberries, Plums and any other fine fruit we fancy, plus a smooth textured rum made from Fancy grade molasses. We also make lovely liqueurs; Cranberry, Blueberry, Arctic Kiwi, Blackberry and Saskatoon Berry to mention a few. Visitors are welcome in our shop, to see the beautiful copper still in action and indulge in free tastings of our products while enjoying the ambience of the century old «Walters Marine Blacksmith» shop.

History

Established in 2008.

The brain child of Pierre Guevremont & Lynne MacKay, who began researching the distilling world in 2008, Ironworks Distillery was created when they found and bought the old blacksmith shop in Lunenburg. The name was a tribute to the building’s history and the talented craftsmen who worked there for decades. The mission of the business is to create fine spirits using ingredients as fresh and as local as possible. After months of renovations & distilling, the doors of the shop opened to the public in June 2009.
