Apparently their wifi is on hiatus after they’ve had issues with people downloading illegal stuff or something. The food is always pretty good, and the atmosphere is relaxed. It is a popular place for people to grab a bite and catch up on work. Seating fills up fast, and changeover can be a bit of a problem with those who go to study. Definitely a cool veggie/vegan spot with some interesting(good) items on the menu.

I was so happy to see that the Sleepless Goat was still around during my last visit to Kingston. The last time I was here, it was eight years ago. It’s an indie coffee shop that also serves delicious vegetarian dishes and desserts. SG is a hole in the wall with eclectic décor; the washroom would probably give Mike Holmes an ulcer. The only thing that has changed is its clientele. When I was in uni, this place catered to hipsters and vagabond looking locals. During my last visit, I noticed that there were all types of people. Now to the food: you can’t go wrong with any of the dishes. The Hellenic wrap was so good(and filling!). Their espresso based drinks are pretty good as well. I would definitely recommend SG if you’re in Kingston looking for a good place to lunch or to take a coffee break. Good for: coffee/tea, sandwiches PS: They take debit and credit cards, but there’s a minimum charge so just bring cash.

Cozy, welcoming, eco friendly folk running a cooperative Café. I love this place and its ethics. The«pay it forward» board is great for providing a treat or coffee for anyone who might not be able to afford it. I also can’t seem to get enough of their sweet potato cheddar quesadillas with mango chutney!

I can’t support a business that uses the art work of cop killers and other convicted criminals to provide their décor. Nauseating.

Good coffee. Really nice guy working the cash, and prompt food delivery. Negatives– French toast was barely dipped in batter therefore like eating bread. I’m assuming they’ll correct this after reading this review. Internet not working either.

We stopped at the Sleepless Goat for a tea, coffee and a cookie — so I can’t say anything about the food they serve. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was good and they have a nice selection of teas and fair trade, organic coffee. The cookie was huge, we shared it! Skip the Starbucks and go here for a coffee instead.

The Iced Mocha Is absolutely incredible. Almost everything there is sourced organically and humanely. The staff are incredible. A man who may have been going through withdrawal and/or a mental issue. The staff brought him water and stayed with him until the ambulance came. Everyone that works there is friendly, and inviting. The coffee is absolutely incredible.

Horrible service cashier was slow and not informed about the menu. Chocolate milk was warm and lemonade was not freshly squeezed and very bitter. Ordered two omelettes seemed pretty basic but tasted horrible we weren’t even able to eat them. Would not recommend surprised there are so many good reviews because it was awful. Bathrooms were very dirty

Nice friendly coffee shop, the staff was pleasant and helpful, limited supply of snacks, only one Gluten free option. Lots of students as expected after all this is s collage town. Coffee/latte was great!

Everything one might expect from a vagan /alternative café. They have a nice menu and the cooking is good. The place is a welcome break in an environment which tends too like sugar and fat too much(brining out the bad side of me…). The staff is friendly and proactive and I didn’t experience any of the lag others have noted. In essence; go there if you like that kind of place. I do!(PS. Anyone familiar with Ariman in Lund, Sweden, will feel right at home.).

For better or worse this place is clearly run by laid back hippies. My tofu scramble was ok but left a considerable film of oil on the plate. Bread tasted homemade which is nice. But Christ is this meal oily.

Went here for an early evening study session. Had a wonderful chai tea latte and delicious perogies with a mango chutney. The sleepless goat offered a nice cozy atmosphere with a manageable level of background noise to get some work done. The staff were super friendly and they have a great«pay it forward» program where you can buy items on their menu for the less fortunate. I went on a Monday evening so the kitchen was closed but I’m excited to go back and try some of their menu items. I’m sad to hear their having liquor licensing complications at the moment. They looked like they had some great speciality coffee type beverages. Hopefully that gets sorted out quick.

Potential but was thoroughly disappointed. Waited twenty minutes for a fruit parfait to go. Had assumed that as it required that much time it might be something different than I had expected. No, it was yoghurt fruit and granola and they weren’t even mixed together. Plus when they gave it to me they told me that there was no cutlery to go… which would have been helpful to mention when I had placed the order to go. Resultantly, I ended up heading into Starbucks next door to steal a spoon where I realized I could have got essentially the same parfait for more than ½ the price and in a twenthyieth of the time. I was so annoyed I actually ended up giving my meal to a homeless person on the street and getting something farther up Princess(a sandwich… which was ready in less than five minutes and was half the price of the parfait).

Funky coffee house with lots of second hand and beat up furniture. It has character. Suspect it’s a favorite haunt of students. Didn’t try them — but the treats look fantastic!(I’ve got my eye on a sticky bun for next time.) Coffee was great! Would I return: yes Would I recommend: yes

Always great coffee and food. I’ve been coming here since I was 5 and still come back every time I’m in the city. The Weekender and cinnamon buns are amazing.

Simply Awesome! The rest of the world is lacking places like this! It is probably the best restaurant I have been to coming from a vegan, I was in heaven! The double chocolate cookies are amazing, take a few for the road, cause they are healthy right? I wish I lived in kingston, I would eat here everyday!

So the Sleepless Goat is a bit of an institution along Princess Street. My relationship to the Goat goes back almost 10 years when I sprained my ankle on the way to a show at the Merchant and the folks at the Goat were kind enough to get me some ice and let me figure out how to get back to my dorm from downtown, but that’s another story… But, what it does attest to is that this place still offers great customer service. The vibe is very much grunge/local/hipster but everyone comes here — it’s not uncommon to witness a mix of young families, older couples and bleary-eyed students here for brunch on the weekends. Coffee is good, tea is great, and the baked goods are super-sized(no complaints here). The brunch menu is what keeps me going when I’m trying to churn out written work on my laptop on early weekend mornings. Take note: their hashbrowns have a chili seasoning that is killer! My advice: skip the toast and go with a few extra hashbrowns; you won’t be disappointed. Tons of veggie options on the menu, but I’m holding out for something gluten-free — the goat doesn’t offer anything at present(to my knowledge). It can be difficult to get a table sometimes, but don’t be afraid to cozy up to those single laptop dwellers. They don’t bite.

On a visit to Kingston, I went here with a friend living in the city who recommended the place because of the vegetarian selections. Cute little café, I’d go here often, provided I lived in Kingston. I ordered a spinach and cheese pie and a chickpea salad; my companions ordered a lentil roti, quinoa salad, and a burrito. I’d order what I ate here again, and maybe try one of the desserts too. Salads at the counter are priced by weight, so keep that in mind.

I’ve eaten here a smattering of times before, but the last time I was in town, I wandered in, and found I just couldn’t give a damn with it. It was all too cafeteria like, go up, order, try to find a seat. Plus, you know, I eat meat. So I went to an Indian place up the street.
