Excellent food and amazing prices.

Had supper with the girls here Friday night. The service was excellent and the food was great too. I have lots of food issues but the menu is well marked with gluten free and lactose free options. Two of my friends got the PEI Burger Love winning burger. They loved it. I had the coconut curry chicken. It was so good. There were big chunks of carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and small pieces of zucchini. It was very flavourful without too much heat. We all got dessert. There was only one piece of the special dessert left — strawberry cream cheese pie so two girls shared that and the terimasou (I cannot spell) cheesecake. They liked them both. My other friend loved the carrot cake. I had the lemon cake with raspberry sauce. It was so good!
If you plan to go then make a reservation. It is popular with not a lot of space. We just stopped and managed to get a table on the deck. We enjoyed the deck but as the sun went down the bugs arrived.

It hurts me to give this place only three stars, because I really did want to give it five. It had been several years since I’d been and had memories of some great meals. I was looking forward to taking my parents here for their anniversary dinner. Alas, I think we hit it on a bad night for the kitchen.
We made reservations for 6:00. When we arrived there were a few people on the outdoor patio and a table of 8 to 10 in the back «porch» who were waiting on dessert. Not sure how many people were in other areas. There was a table of two came in shortly after we arrived. Our server was very cheerful but seemed harried. There were long gaps between seating, getting menus, ordering drinks, ordering food and most especially receiving food.
When we inquired about the wait we were told the kitchen was backed up and second basket of rolls was offered. My husband and I shared a caesar salad to start, it was smaller than I expected and was okay, nothing special. And then the wait for entrees. Inquired again and told our dinners were being plated, another 5 — 10 minutes pass. My husband and I receive our meals but no sign of my parent’s meals. Another 5 — 10 minutes and my parents receive their meals. We were later told their meals were late because they had to switch the potato sides.
I had the coconut curried chicken. It was tasty but the rice seemed like regular long grain white rice, not the green jasmine rice listed on the menu. My husband had the ginger beef and thought it quite tasty. Dad had the pan fried oysters and mom the almond crusted chiken. Both were good but they obviously didn’t arrive fresh off the stove.
Our server did check in on us while eating our entrees and after. After, I said the meals were good, once they arrived. She asked if they could compensate us, maybe dessert? No, we didn’t want dessert. Nothing else was offered as compensation so that was it. We paid and left. After so looking forward to the meal, it was a big disappointment. I can appreciate that any kitchen can have an off night, I just wish it hadn’t been this night.

Recently enjoyed a wonderful birthday lunch here with family — 4 adults and 2 youngsters. It was quiet on a recent Sunday so we were lucky to get all the attention. This is a family-​run business, and everyone was super pleasant. I tried the lobster sandwich with a lime-​mayo, very tasty. The peach lady cocktail was excellent. Most of us got the corn chowder with a freshly seared scallop as our side dish as it sounded delicious — and it was. We wrapped up with the special dessert of the day, a peach-​rhubard crisp, and were glad we got two portions to share among us as it was wonderful! The portions are not too big, which is great as the quality is very high. Everyone was very pleasant and the Inn is lovely to stroll through.
Next time I’d like to sit with a beverage in the cosy Stanford’s Lounge area, where it looked like an old time gentlemen’s club or the like, with dark wood and leather. This place has a number of fabulous spots to discover.

Excellent food, great ambience. If you’re in Summerside do yourself the favor and drive the 10−15mins to Kensington to go to this place for dinner — it’s worth it!

Wonderful homely atmosphere and dishes, delicious and comfy. Served by very motherly staff with a giant pepper grinder! Highlight of the evening :)

Lovely setting in an old house. Food was FANTASTIC! Will definitely be back. Friendly service and spoke with the chef who was very nice and extremely talented! A must do on the Island!
