Halifax Dance

I took a performance arts class through NSCAD during my foundation year, and spent every Thursday from 9 – 12 frolicking my way through this downtown facility.
Slightly out of the sight, the studio sits on the lower level of 1505 Barrington Street– the mall /​office building fusion across from Spring Garden. With a comfortable reception area that seems prime for dance interludes, there is also an immediate service spot for those looking to sign up or ask questions.
There are a few studios the stem through the halls, each filled with full-​length mirrors, sound systems and other sorts of equipment, as well as large changing rooms with showers. My time here allowed for a comfortable way to wake up every Thursdays, as our class was taught by a lovely veteran dancer.
The community here seems to embrace itself and others, and really support all local performance art. We were encouraged to attend various performances throughout the city, and I certainly wouldn’t have known about them otherwise.
With tons of great programs offered and a positively glowing organization, I would only think a class/​session here could bring good times.
