A group of us went here after bowling the other night, and although it didn’t seem busy(we grabbed a table no problem) we had to wait over an hour for our food. Yes, the Blue Jay’s were playing but an hour for dried up chicken wings? Nachos were ‘so-so’. I don’t mind waiting awhile for great food, but the wings were horrible(I soooo miss the Pogue). Our waitress was friendly but that couldn’t make up for the slow food. Drinks were brought promptly though, guess they figured if we were drunk food could wait!

We came here for lunch. It wasn’t extremely busy but the wait time for the food was ridiculous. It took 45 mins to get our food and all we ordered was wings. Not a good place to go on an hour lunch. The service needs to be faster. Will not be back unfortunately.

I work in Fairview, and since there aren’t many licensed places to sit down for lunch in the area, it has become one of the default go-to places for lunches. Friendly service, especially from the regular waitress we tend to get when going here on lunch hours. Sorry I haven’t caught her name yet! Okay potato skins(‘Smothered in cheddar and mozzarella cheese and oven baked. Topped with crisp bacon and green onion and served with sour cream.’ 9.99). Mine didn’t have much cheese on them so the term smothered wasn’t accurate, and what was there was a bit dry. A few times I have requested to pay for extra cheese and then they are better, although I wish they had that much cheese to begin with. Bubba’s Mega Nachos(tortilla chips loaded with onions, peppers, tomatoes, cheddar and mozza cheeses, oven baked and topped with jalapeño peppers, served with salsa and sour cream –15.99) are quite standard. I mostly finish mine and am always full. There were enough toppings and the cheese had some overdone/crispy spots, but no real complaints. Decent quesadillas — grilled just right and with a good amount of toppings(used to come with a side, but doesn’t now). Decent Caesar salad(mine minus the bacon), with a strong garlic taste and good amount of parm. My partner enjoys the buffalo chicken sandwich enough, although it looks like they use a processed cheese slice on top to give it an unnatural look. He says their wings are the best in the city, and they have been voted this apparently, but he hasn’t tried many in the city, so can’t give the best opinion. He likes the Bubba’s Buffalo sauce, although I wish he would try their 50 or so other sauces! LOL If I ate meat, I’d have to try every one of them. I like their simple Western sandwich with fries(just ask for mine without meat) 7.99. Their veggie flatbread pizza(mozzerella, green pepper, mushroom, tomato, onion) 9.99 was good, although large chunks of crunchy vegetables on a very thin crust, with minimal sauce, if you like it that way. The Bruschetta(mix of marinated plum tomatoes, fresh herbs and garlic topped with feta cheese and a balsamic reduction on flat bread. 8.99) was fine, tasty but nothing special. The cheese perogies with sour cream(7.99) were a bit dry, but edible. Standard onion rings. Decent spinach salad. I don’t see their dessert menu online but enjoyed their Vanilla Bean Brulee, which is like a pre-made mini cheesecake, I guess done in brulee style? I would call it just more a cheesecake, but was fine nonetheless. Large open concept bar with lots of basic tables, a few booths. Fair amount of sports memorabilia and TVs around, but something in the vibe of this place is blah to me.(I prefer the Spring Garden Rd location out of the two). I’m not sure if it’s the limited natural lighting coming in or what, but there’s something just not overly inviting about it. I had only been to the Red Fox once(the bar which was in this location for many years), and that was not a place I would ever enjoy. Bubba’s is better than that was. My partner says he was pleasantly surprised when he tried it here, expecting it to be like the old bar. On wing night, it is very busy and you may have to wait for a table. I prefer to go then and get a pitcher of beer, plus the dinner menu is bigger so I have more choices. Since again, this is the only full restaurant/bar within walking distance of my office, I know I will be back many times with coworkers, although I have already tried all the veggie options on the menu. *Note: the lunch menu is only about half of the dinner menu, but I have asked for dinner items at lunch and gotten them. :)
