Definitely the best all you can eat sushi in Guelph. I’ve been to 2 other places in town but usually we go to Waterloo for sushi. We heard about this place and decided to try it out and we were so happy we did. Everything was prepared at the right temperatures which is something that a lot of sushi places screw up on. I also appreciated the fact that some of the rolls came in 4 pieces which gives the customer to order more variety without worrying about not finishing it. The service was great too. We had a young lady serve us and she had the most polite attitude. She was one of the few servers who check up on you frequently but not in a way that makes you feel like you’re constantly being interrupted. She also let us know when the last of our orders arrived so we knew not to wait expecting something else to come along. Also, the food came at a great pace: we were never bombarded with dishes or waiting either. Our first dish came really quickly too! Overall good food, good service, good atmosphere, fantastic price. This is now my go-to sushi spot!

This is the best AYCE sushi in Guelph and Kitchener-Waterloo. In terms of nigiri sushi, they have it on point. I understand that the quality may not be as great as JaBistro or Yuzu No Hana in downtown T. O(both have great wagyu and bluefin tuna btw) but they have the temperatures down 100%. A good way to gauge quality sushi is with temperatures. Good sushi rice should be around body temperature and the fish to be close to room temperature. Kisara was definitely the closest out of all the AYCE places in the cities I mentioned. If you’re coming here for California rolls or some chicken teriyaki maki roll, then you might feel like it’s the same as any other sushi place… but if you want AYCE that’s close authentic nigiri at a very reasonable price, THISISTHESPOT.

This for me is the worst sushi I have tried– aside from fast food sushi of course. I hate to be the person who gives such a low review but it truly reflects my experience here. I did not find the meal pleasing and for the first time, I was not able to finish my meal. I found the rolls to be unpleasing. Maybe the way they were put together? Maybe the rice? Maybe even the sauces that the rolls were excessively seasoned with? I would like to come back with a fresh mindset and try it again. I am willing to come back and try it again but I need to find a reason to come back. When I do, I will be sure to update this review and indicate that I have updated my review but for now, this is how I view this place. I would instead recommend sushi places in this order: 1) Samura 2) W sushi/cherry blossom(same owners) 3) Fuji sushi

Best sushi in town easily. The sashimi is incredible and the rolls are super big. The Korean dishes are amazing too. If you don’t like a lot of sauce on your rolls(which sometimes I do not) you can easily ask them to leave it off(instead of never going there again because you ordered the wrong thing). Love this place and recommend it to all sushi lovers that are fed up with the Guelph cafeteria-style sushi scene(W and Fuji are what I’m talking about, yuck!).

We arrived around 5 pm and went to make our order. It was taking longer then expected and then the server came and told us it was taking so long because the cooks were actually not in the kitchen, but they were out taking a walk because it is «usually not busy.» The hand rolls were not up to par, as the contents were literally mashed together and rolled. My GF said it looked like cat food. The crabmeat sushi rolls were subpar: the contents were just crabmeat and some rice in seaweed paper. The crabmeat however was overly tough and rubbery, not impressive. The noodle dishes such as the yakisobe/upon and donburi were excellent in comparison, as was the service by our waitress. All in all, it may not be all that bad of a place, but this experience is leaving much to be desired by us, and we will probably not returning to this establishment. :c

Gross. The sushi itself was not very good to begin with, but it was rendered awful because they SMOTHERED everything in unagi sauce… which would have been fine if I’d ordered unagi. Basically like a really, really sweet barbecue sauce poured over my dynamite and spicy tuna rolls. Previous reviewer is right — the portions are huge, but maki the size of my arm is not a selling point when it doesn’t taste good. Would definitely not go there again.

My wife and I stopped in for lunch here after a nice day in the park nearby. We have tried other sushi restaurants, but found the quality didn’t generally match the price, and either left hungry, unhappy, or both. We are both big sushi fans that got used to our wealth options in Toronto. Kisara was a welcome change from our past experiences in Guelph. The staff were friendly, the portions were big, and the sushi was delicious. My wife ordered a lunch bento box, which came with a generously sized sweet potato roll, avocado roll, noodles, tempura veggies, and a small mixed sprout salad. I ordered a sushi pizza and a spicy California roll. Both meals came with a small salad, and a miso soup. I very easily could have ordered the pizza or the roll on their own, as both were large enough to be a meal. This restaurant is relatively new, but we’re both excited to come back for more. Their menu is quite substantial, and I’m excited to try some of their Korean dishes in addition to sampling some of their other sushi options.
