Gibson’s Fish Market

My partner and I were headed to the Sunshine Coast to visit some friends for the long weekend and what better to go with a weekend of drinking and relaxing than some good ol’ greasy Fish & Chips. A Google search only turned up a few options and Gibsons Fish seemed to be the most popular option. Gibsons Fish is a quaint little shop with a few tables inside and a few tables outside depending on the weather. The staff were a friendly, easy going bunch commonly found in small towns. Joined by a few of our friends, we decided to order the Cod Fish & Chips Family Pack ($ 34.95), which consisted of 6 pieces of Fish, 2 large Chips, and 1 large Coleslaw. The Coleslaw was average and a bit bland, but the Chips were decent and crispy. We were all happy with the taste and size of the Fish and although the batter could have been a little lighter, we were all content as we gobbled up the greasy, Tartar Sauce coated goodness! The Family Pack was a very decent size for four people, although I wanted it all to myself. =P Other offerings also include Burgers (Beef, Fish, & Oyster), Sandwiches, The Fry Menu (Fries, Curly Fries, Onion Rings, Poutine…), and a few Breakfast items. Gibsons Fish is a cute place that we would happily come back to whenever we are in Gibsons again.
