Looking for a place to eat before a show at City Hall and found Le Tartuffe on line. Made our reservation through their on line service, easy and simple. Follow up phone call resulted in a slight change to our timing based on the advice of the restaurant. Warm and friendly reception on arrival. Very nice setting. Food was outstanding… scallops, followed by duck and ended with crème brûlée. Recommended wine pairing was most excellent and surprisingly inexpensive. Main course portion size was generous and very well prepared. We’ll be going back to this gem.

We walked in to this restaurant wearing casual clothes and we’re immediately greeted by Nicolas before we had the chance to turn around because it seemed out of our element. He took my friends jacket hung it up and seated us. Being two english only citizens he laughed and broke down the menu for us. We both decided on the chefs choice and a beer. The was food amazing. Cooked perfectly! He even gave us a taste of wine he suggested to accompany the meal. After the meal he walked us out and pointed us in the direction if a decent bar. #classy I will defiantly return!

I set out for an adventure to walk to Quebec and explore the French city across from Ottawa. I pride myself on being able to choose good restaurants and was quite pleased with my choice to satisfy my craving for a French food fix by trying this delightful restaurant. The service is excellent, the server apologized for not speaking English very well… I thought he did just fine in describing the soup of the day was cold asparagus with orange and bits of bacon. I almost apologized for not being properly dressed(workout capris, crisscross workout top, workout shoes and a sweatshirt) but decided to act as if I fit In with the other conservatively dressed patrons… I also had the wild mushroom quiche with arugula and cucumber. It was beautifully presented and it satisfied my craving. It was quite a find!

A great little find, located only one block from the Canadian Museum of Civilization. It’s a quaint house turned restaurant. The food isn’t mind blowing but it was prepared with alot of care. Le Tartuffe does deserve five stars just for the exceptional service and perfectly bilingual, but still unstuffy, staff.

Le Tartuffe is a little gem just across the river from Ottawa in Gatineau area. My first time to Quebec and was amazed by the service, French ambiance, meal and wine. The rack of lamb was amazing and the meal was TABLE D’HÔTE or soup, appetizer, entrée and coffee is included. The Gazpacho was a surprise of how refreshing and tasteful it was and then we moved to a portobello mushroom and gnochhi combo which was a taste explosion combination. John had a surprise chef special which turned out to be sauteed sea scallops. We swapped bites and got to enjoy a little more from this marathon meal. All I can say is «Wow», as it lead up to some scrumptious rack of lamb perpared medium rare, and was tender with an outer crust that melted in my mouth. I had a 2003 Bourdeaux, the name escapes me at the moment, which complimented the meal real well. Le Tartuffe was recommended to me by some locals in Ottawa and if I make my way back to Ottawa, I will be making plans to go back.

Fantastic little French restaurant in a converted single-family home in the Gatineau suburb of Quebec, Canada. French-influenced Canadian ingredients — cannot go wrong with this recipe. We started off with an amazing bottle of 1990 Saint Emilion«Château Simard» wine that rocked everything from the asparagus-fennel soup to the duck confit on butter-poached leeks to the wild mushroom and pesto-crusted«rare(read RARE) lamb on a bed of parsnips and the most amazing ratatouille I have had west of the Seine. Was so full that had to pass on the cheese course. Will definitely be back. Thank you! Merci beaucoup! Je t’aime Le Tartuffe mwah!
