The Flying Chestnut

Just did the Flying Chestnut Sunday Family Dinner. At$ 40 pp, this is a good deal. Salad of field greens and a house vinaigrette (that was a little to much vinegar for my tastes), a phyllo pastry stuffed with smoked salmon and goat cheese on sautéed onions and peppers to begin.
The Family dinner is a big platter for everyone at your table. Tonight, flat iron steak, frites, roasted veggies (best carrots ever), homemade cream corn, broccoli and some cabbage slaw.
Excellent. The meal also comes with a peppercorn sauce. I used that on everything. Included was the dessert… lemon poppyseed cake on bed of berries. Excellent.
We go there more often in the summer but we always go back. Super place and staff.

Generous portions. Hubby’s steak and duck fat cooked fries was perfectly done. My salmon on a bed of rice pilaf with beets was delish!
Fun and quirky interior, some of the chairs were a little rickety so give them a test before you sit down.
Will be back!
