This place is definitely a diamond in the rough. With no one or nothing in sight(this is literally in the middle of no where), why even try so hard to impress? But apparently they have their reasons to overachieve and they have. I first saw this place on an episode of You Gotta Eat Here! I had thoughts of a grand diner in a hustling bustling town with country music in the backdrop, cowboys and gunslingers out and about. Well… no. It’s literally a building on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere with n one. My initial thoughts were to backpedal out and close the door silently but damn that cashier spotted me! On to the food; it’s just plain awesome! Sandwiches, sweets, burgers, you name it and they deliver. Let’s be Frank here and say this place is NOT going to start a food revolution. There is no genre defying food that has never been done before. Whatever they make, they just make it really tasty. Out here there aren’t many options so be thankful the Flying Spatula is around. This place is truly a gem and I will definitely be stopping by with every opportunity that I have.

Really yummy, fresh food. Skillet eggs were amazing. Kids loved the pancakes. Unique mugs were a great touch. Truck stop ambience.

Coming back down from my little camping adventure. I smelled… just GROSS. I didn’t want to stop anywhere because I didnt want to put anyone else through the pain of having to smell how bad I smelled! Ok ok it wasn’t gross just super smokey. Now, if you’re not from this area and are like me just around for the first time… you are going the right way! I know you leave town and all of a sudden you’re questioning if it really is this way because you start getting all those fields you’ve been looking at for the last few hours… it is the right way. Anywho I saw the reviews on this place and I was really hungry so decided to stop. I went in for their Sunday Brunch Buffet it is $ 12.99 per person, I was a little disappointed because that picture of the eggs Benedict really had me craving one. But ok, I wasn’t going anywhere else. The first thing that I have to comment on, is the FANTASTIC customer service. The lady at the counter was super polite and was very nice so that got me seated immediately. Food: Potato Salad, Cooked Potatoes, Lasagna, Sausage, Waffles, Pancakes, Bacon, Omelettes and I’m sure im missing a few more things that were amazingly delicious. 100% great food, great service I shouldn’t have to sell you on this, just go try it :) ITISCASHONLY!

Great little diner — I had the meatloaf sandwich with a Caesar and my boyfriend had the cheese steak sandwich and they were both amazing!

Ok, this is my type of place. Cool vibe, friendly waitress, good prices, and ohhhh the food. I think I have found my go to restaurant. good thing its an hour from my house, or I may have to get my own parking spot. Stopped in noonish on a Monday. Place was busy, but waitress took it all in stride. Ordered the cowboy breakfast, and hubby had a burger. Mine was the best — a cornbread jalapeño waffle topped with 2 eggs and smothered in chili and cheese, on a bed of home fries. Not for a dieter or the faint of heart. It was delicious. Burger was great too, very generous size and lots of those yummy fries you just cant quit eating. Lunch with coffee and a tip was less than $ 35. It is cash only.

**CASHONLY** We had breakfast there. Quirky décor and nice atmosphere. We received sausages with our breakfast and when we cut into them the sausages were pink inside. Unfortunately, once the waitress dropped off the food she never returned to ask how our breakfast was, so the sausages were not eaten. Salad is served with breakfast… now that is different.

It is a good place to eat in this relatively remote place. The food was tasty, the amounts were generous, the service was excellent, and the price was reasonable. Have some cash, however: they may not accept a credit card.

Filthy to say the least! Went in for breakfast after seeing it on a «Gotta Eat Here Show» and we couldn’t believe this was the same place. Did not expect to have to have a brunch but we thought what the heck… huge mistake. This biggest problem was sthe display of food, gross and having to stand in line waiting to cook your own toast. Are you kidding. Most ridiculous place I’ve been in, but it seems to be a common occurrence with the restaurants in the Flesherton, Markdale area. Disgustingly filthy and over wonder they showed all the closeups of food. Makes me gag just thinking of the place.

The service here was so unbelievably fast and the staff so friendly. My wife and I both ordered the turkey club sandwich and it was so big that it was difficult to finish. The value that you get is utterly fantastic and is a local must visit.

On a trip to Sauble Beach I was looking for a neat place to stop for lunch, and searched the You Gotta Eat Here website as they often show restaurants in small towns across Canada and that’s where I found this place. Once I looked it up I remembered seeing the episode it was on, with the bacon wrapped meat loaf, etc, and thought it would be a good place to check out. It’s also perfectly halfway to Sauble Beach from Toronto making it a great place to stop. This place is great. I would call it slightly upscale diner food. The best thing about this place is that the stuff is definitely homemade. This isn’t the kind of place that serves you frozen veggies, and what they do serve is a good assortment: creamed corn, cooked red cabbage, some roasted carrot, and broccoli. All of that came along with the meals that we ordered. We got the Hot Turkey Sandwich and the Bacon Wrapped Meat Loaf. They aren’t afraid to show you how much turkey is in the hot turkey sandwich as it’s opened face, and it’s loaded with big chunks of turkey. The bacon wrapped meat loaf had a smokiness to it that I liked, and was the more unique of the two dishes. Both were quite yummy and filling and worth the $ 13 – 14 dollars. The only critique I might have is the mashed potatoes that came with the meat loaf had a bit too much pepper. The décor of the place is quite fitting. It definitely has a diner style vibe too it, as they have cool paintings on a wall of a hamburger, some fried eggs, and some big ol’ trucks. Though best of all is that they played old timey music which really gave it a nostalgic and authentic feel. I feel that foodies must work here because our waitress was wearing a Big Gay Ice Cream shirt, which happens to be a NY food truck, and the food was really just made with care. It was even plated nicely. I will totally come back here someday. I’d really like to try their breakfast, which I will hopefully do next year on my way to the beach!

We stopped in on our way back from Sauble Beach and we were pleased. I would definitely stop here again. Their menu offered slightly upscale pub /diner food: fish and chips, burgers, a monte cristo sandwich, club sandwich, all-day breakfasts and the like. We had lots to pick from but there weren’t many surprises and unique dishes. Everything we had was above average. Nothing totally blew our socks off, but we were pleased with everything from the quality of the fries down to the tasty pickle that came on my burger. The desserts are made in house, and my wife’s brownie was particularly nice. Best brownie I’ve had in a while, actually. The service was solid and friendly but they were busy and we didn’t get a lot of attention. There isn’t anything truly worth going out of your way for here but if you want to eat in Flesherton, I would definitely put this on the list. I expect we will stop here again.
