this has been the 3rd time I have eaten at the Curry Fix. Tonight I had Chicken Vindaloo, naan bread, rice, a bit of cucumber raita(the vindaloo was very spicy, even for me) and started off with the veggie samosa’s with tamarind chutney. The chutney I could drink with a straw it is so good. the food is wonderful, the ambience is great and the service is wonderful. I recommend this place to everyone I know

The Curry Fix is not a gourmet restaurant, but the curry it does provide is very nice. I’ve been here roughly three times now, and each time the man who runs it was a joy to be around. He really helps you settle in, as Alan C. says in his review, and when we went offered us several tips to save us money and allow us to try a wider range of food. The lamb curry he recommended was particularly fantastic — I’d say it’s better than the butter chicken! Samosas were quite well done. Prices are average, but portion sizes tend to be reasonably large. If you’re in the area, it’s a nice curry place.

Despite my earlier review, after dining in a few times(as opposed to doing take-out), I’ve grown to love this place. The man who runs it is about as friendly as people get. He’ll be happy to tell you about an unfamiliar dish, recommend alternatives to keep things from getting tired, and overall make you feel extremely welcome. On his suggestions I’ve had some of the most enjoyable meals of my life. Every time I go, this place is nearly empty, and it’s hard to understand why. Another reviewer mentioned it looks like a hole in the wall, but go inside and you’ll find it’s anything but. Definitely a restaurant worth supporting!

The Chana masala & dal tadka are great. I also love the mango lasse.

Just did take out from here. The décor is pretty sparse, with just some India inspired music to make sure you realize what kind of food to expect. The samosas were huge and delicious. I always fine samosas to be pretty dry, but these were really moist and had a lot of flavor. They are huge. One order would be a good lunchtime meal for me. The palace pander was a little more purée’d than I am used to, but it tasted good. The kadhai chicken was great. We like this better than any butter chicken. We also had an order of naan and rice. The gulab jaman was a good way to finish the meal. We are going to be able to get two meal out of our order, the value is pretty good.

Located in what I thought was a hole in the wall, Curry Fix will satisfy your curry craving. The restaurant itself is no bigger than the outside, but it creates a cozy atmosphere. Dishes are typical from what is found at Indian restaurants. From butter chicken to tandoori chicken, their dishes have the traditional indian spices. Their food was good, yet it was nothing very memorable. The naan bread was freshly made, yet it was too thin. The chicken dishes were also good, but they contained almost too much peppers and onions that it was almost like fishing for chicken. I’m not saying the food here is lackluster. They’re better than fast food, yet not as good as gourmet restaurants. Plus, their spice still has a kick.

If you’re in Riverbend and craving East Indian, The Curry Fix will work in a pinch, but it’s not quite the real deal. They’ve got everything, from chana masala and butter chicken, to a million and one lamb kebab dishes, stewed veggies and seafood sauteed in butter and exotic eastern spices. There’s plenty of flavour and hot, but the butter chicken lacks the«je né sais quoi» that makes it melt-in-your-mouth God food. It’s good, don’t get me wrong. It’s my favorite dish; but the price says it all: $ 12.99 an order. Most exquisite butter chicken dishes ring in at about $ 17 a plate. This is better than fast food Indian, but not as good as Easter gourmet establishments like Haweli, downtown(worth the drive from anywhere in the city.) The tandoori chicken, my eating partner’s favourite, was marinated in Tandoori sauce, not slow baked in a Tandoor oven, which would make it authentic. For dessert we had Chai tea and mango rice pudding, which were a sweet and delicious finish to a fairly good meal.
