Swiss Chalet

I entered the Swiss chalet location on 50^st and 137 ave in edmonton, alberta, canada for dinner tonight and saying the service is horrific is an understatement. Including myself there were 3 adults and an infant. The hostess pointed at a table for us to sit at and said she’d be bringing menus and a high chair right away. We waited over 10 minutes to recieve a chair and menu before we ended up grabbing them ourselves. when a waitress finally came after 25 minutes she looked at us and just turned around, we hadn’t even gotten our drinks yet! We had to yell over to her as she walked away. It took 10 minutes to get our drinks. Over 40 minutes passed before she finally took our order. I can guarantee I will never recommend this location to anyone EVER. After an hour of waiting and we haven’t even received out food or had a waitress return to our table in 20 minutes…
enough of the service let’s talk the food — not even close to being worth the price you pay. The potatoes tasted rancid and the chicken wasn’t even CLOSE to being fully cooked. I could have eaten out of a McDonald’s dumpster and had a better meal! And that’s being generous!
When I spoke to someone who claimed to be a manager she tried to claim that PINK chicken was cooked properly and completely disregarded my complaint. I almost fed this crap to my 9 month old and if he would have received food poisoning due to the negligence at this location I’d be on my way a court house. I refused to eat it because I can’t afford to spend the next week in a hospital with food poisoning

The food was horrible. We ordered the family festive feast. The chicken we got was only enough for 2 maybe 3 people. My husband ended up getting no meat kids are elementary and toddler so they don’t eat much. The mashed potatoes were instant, the corn had a tinny canned taste, cranberry sauce was usual canned stuff. Stuffing reminded me of stove top.
For the price we paid almost 50… could have made at least 2 meals way better at home or even the safeway deli.
We got 4 boxes of the Lindor chocolates with the meal and 1 chocolate was missing out of 1 box… hungry staff member?
Only good thing was the order was ready when we had requested (pick up)

Update: Cara Operations Ltd. agreed to settle my legal claim against this franchisee in full plus court costs, and they apologised for the poor service and Bob’s inadequate efforts to settle the issue earlier. I consider the matter fully closed now, but I sure as hell won’t do business with this particular branch of Swiss Chalet again!

7 months later and I still haven’t heard from Swiss Chalet. Horrible! I find this to be very unprofessional.
In case anybody is wondering it’s been a few months now and I still haven’t heard back from Swiss Chalet. This just goes to show customer complaints/​issues are not a priority or of any interest to head office. Very disappointed. Definitely will not be going back ever!

Possibly the worst Swiss Chalet in existence. I LOVE Swiss Chalet but this one is just horrendous.
The service is non existent. Today we walked into an empty restaurant and had to wait nearly five minutes to be seated. Why? Simply because no one came up front to see if there were customers there. No host/​hostess seated us. Instead it was the waitress. She however was not around our entire meal though there was no one else there.
Food was great. Just took longer than when I’ve been in packed full Swiss Chalets.
I have to mention last time I tried this location. You think I would have learned my lesson then. The supposed manager wasn’t even making a list of who or how many were to be seated during dinner time rush. Instead he just kept asking everyone who was next! Good thing we were all honestly hungry.

Honestly i don’t mind this place: I know all the foodies out there would shudder at the fact, but really it’s a great family joint. You’ve got something for everyone, and the service is great. We had an awesome waitress, the food was cooked properly and my kid got a meal he could actually enjoy (he’s a steak and potatoes kinda boy). And the kids menus actually offer something different besides hot dogs and macaroni. Always so good for so little???
