The staff at this location of Soda Jerks were slow to get going when I stopped by, but once they did get in gear, the service they offered was good. The food wasn’t bad, but the burger patty could be better.(It’s cooked hard like health authorities have likely instructed the owners of this outlet to do.) I’ll suggest that for the price, the value proposition is poor. The countertops at the bar could have been cleaner as well on the day that I visited. Seeing as they had only been open for 40 minutes or so and as the stains appeared to be dried on, I’d wager this was crud from another day. Call me old fashioned if you will, but I believe that your flat surfaces should be clean at the beginning of the day.

We’ve been here a few times and usually it’s average. We typically try to go on Wednesday when it’s 40% off the build your own burger, as that’s decent value on sale. Was there on a non-Wednesday and it was pretty dead — 3 or 4 tables with a couple of servers working. Nonetheless, service was still slow and we waited for a while for our food. Our server also forgot to put our appetizers in the system, and when she finally realized, they ended up coming out after our meals. Tried the veggie cup after the server said it was generally liked by people — veggie patty was salty and had an odd texture(too soft and squishy). The rest of the toppings were an odd combination with the taste of the patty(brie, sauteed mushrooms and roasted peppers. There was supposed to be guacamole, but they forgot it.) in a large wedge of iceberg, which was 80% of the order. Basically I paid $ 16 for a wedge of cheap lettuce. When the server asked at the end of the meal how it was and I shared my feedback, it was met with indifference. I had a side of sweet potato fries and they were good. Not sure if it was an off night, or trying something new just wasn’t in my cards, but I really didn’t enjoy this experience.

I had a similar experience misinterpreting the large billboard advertisement out front of this location promising«WEDNESDAYS40% OFF» It’s on my drive home, and seeing this day in and day out for the last month or so I finally couldn’t stand it any longer and made a point of taking a half-day to treat my wife any myself.. . Now here’s the problem, I’m all about the sides, and just love fried pickles. Well, with no exceptions or clarifications on the billboard, and none posted in the restaurant, I was not only disappointed when, only after being seated, the limitation of the sale(i.e. only the Build Your Own Burger was 40% off) were explained, but found these advertising practices downright deceptive and quite possibly afoul of the Competition Act insofar as false and misleading sale price advertising is concerned. Needless to say I left without ordering. I contacted Soda Jerks with my concern via their website, and kudos to then for at least taking the time to get back to me, but the billboard is still there, so obviously they don’t care enough to take it down before more customers are similarly TRICKED and left disappointed. I have eaten at this location, having had lunch here with my staff before Christmas, and it was dead but still the service was terrible. I didn’t post a review at the time, and I was willing to give it this second chance(especially given the sale) but now I think I’ll have to find somewhere else with fried pickles, as I don’t think I’ll be back any time soon, and certainly won’t be taking my staff here for lunch ever again.

Soda Jerks are jerks! How would you interpret 40% off Wednesdays, for example? Apparently, it should be read 40% off ONESINGLEITEM on the menu, namely Build Your Own Burger. So misleading advertising definitely wasn’t a good start. They obviously use it to lure customers in and once you’re there, most of us would just stay, right? That’s what they’re counting on. Furthermore, it took them a few minutes to sit us, although the restaurant wasn’t busy. The hostess/waitress was wearing dirty joggers… The menu was dirty. The table had a peeling off sticker on it… Our waitress didn’t show up for quite a while… All in all, very unappealing place and it just opened! Yikes! Bad business practice and bad service.

I had sworn off Soda Jerks after a couple of awful experiences at the Stony Plain road location, but we were at the Costco across the parking lot and decided to give this new location a try. Super glad we did because it was great! The food was quick and delicious! The waitress was very nice and competent. Will be back!

Nice menu. Fun for families. Fun choices. Great service. Much nicer restaurant environment than stony plain road location and much better service.

Service was fantastic. Food was took us super fast. Very tasty burgers I had the one with guacamole on it with fries(the fries were overly salted and nothing special) however I had a milkshake with Bailies, expresso vodka and it was amazing. Think traditional milk shake what was full of yummiest flavour. Friday August 28 around 5:30pm.

I really like Soda Jerks but when I went to this new location, there was disappointment. They are located across the Winterburn Costco and just opened up. We went to try this location as they were offering their traditional burger for free as the staff were new and still learning. We were able to get a seat before it got really busy. The waitress did greet us immediately and brought us our drinks except there was no coffee or hot water available as the machine wasn’t working yet. Customers were able to order either fries or onions rings for $ 2.00. We ordered some fries and onion rings. My sister and her husband made a special request on the toppings for their burgers. All the burgers arrived in a timely manner except the two special order ones. The waitress had to check on them and it was a while before they got to the table. Our fries were a bit greasy and soggy and the onion rings were not crispy. I heard from a friend who also ate there that night that they were able to order sweet potato fries but we were not advised of that. I have always enjoyed the food at Soda Jerks but not this time. The burger was so-so and not great enough to try again. Hopefully the other burger choices on the menu are much better so I will try this location again and I love the build your own burger option. If you have tried the traditional burger and thought it was just so-so, don’t let that stop you from trying other options at Soda Jerks.

My family and I went to the new Soda Jerks at West Granville tonight. Service was slow, forgetful, and dopey. Tonight was their opening night and I get that there are kinks to be worked out on anyone’s first night but there is a limit as to what’s acceptable. My wife and I arrived about ten to fifteen minutes before the rest of our party got there. We were hungry so we ordered for ourselves right away. For the first night, the restaurant was only serving the Traditional Burger which comes with bacon, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, and mayo on a sesame seed bun. For tonight’s promotion the burger was free – customers were only charged for the sides and drinks. Not a bad deal. I asked for just bacon and cheddar on my burger – nothing else. Simple, right? I noticed right away that the waitress didn’t write our orders down. That didn’t concern me much because for all I know, she might have a great memory. Anyway, while we were waiting the wait staff approached our table at least twice with food orders for other tables. No big deal. That’s just a first night growing pain – maybe the staff don’t have the table numbers memorized yet. In the meantime the rest of our party arrived and they ordered their food which was delivered to them about ten minutes later.(The waitress did write their orders down.) So the waitress upon noticing that my wife and I didn’t have our food yet immediately resolved to us that she was going to «Figure something out.» She came back and forth to our table at least three times, each time with a different one-liner about how she was going to «Get to the bottom of this» or «Find out what’s going on.» Words to that effect. I already knew what was«going on.» She obviously didn’t write our order down and forgot all about us and was now trying to reframe the situation in her favour by portraying herself as some kind of fearless burger superhero that was going to rescue our food from the elusive burger-nappers. Our family were almost done eating by the time our food came out which was accompanied by a vague, superficial apology for the wait. No responsibility was taken for the mix-up nor was there an offer of a complimentary side or drink for our trouble. Yeah, the burger was free anyway but our wait time due to the staff’s mistake was made substantially longer than every other customer’s in the place. Oh yeah, and when we got our food, the burger was not how I asked for it. It was as it was described in the menu with all fixins’ that I requested be left off. I’m not a mayo fan – it looks and tastes like Caspar vomit. Did I mention that she didn’t write our orders down? I didn’t dare send it back. I probably would have had to wait another hour. Like I say, I was able to overlook some first night errors but lacking attention to detail and a total indifference to customer satisfaction are deeper issues than first night jitters. I hope they improve. * Update — my favourite part? The restaurant’s management has been on this page since the bad reviews came out(look at the dates on their photos) and they did nothing to reach out to unhappy customers to make things right. There are also three«non-recommended» negative reviews here that Unilocal’s eye-in-the-sky didn’t think should make the cut but they look legit.
