I’m really surprised that this place has such a low rating. I went here twice while visiting family in Edmonton. The servers were very sweet and attentive, and the food was quick, tasty and delicious. I know it’s not a five star restaurant, but the food is good and that’s what matters. I really enjoyed their chicken tenders(clearly, I’m still a six year old at heart) I only wish they had some BBQ Sauce and Honey Mustard so I could really enjoy them, but the sauces they provided were just fine! Loved the soups and salads of the day, but I wish they offered the chili more often! That was a family favorite!

Been here twice, once with my husband, and once with a group from Church. First time I came with my husband our waitress was slow getting our drinks, order, and check. The food was mediocre and came out a little cold. Also there was a couple with two kids who kept yelling and screaming. Everyone in the restaurant was annoyed and nobody did anything about it. Our entire meal was serenaded by screaming yelling children. The second time we came with our church group, our waitress charged some people extra money for things that they didn’t order or that shouldn’t cost so much extra. Someone wanted hamburger instead of sausage and was charged $ 5 extra. I ordered a steak and swapped sweat potato fries for regular and was charged $ 5. It wasn’t as if I got both fries. When asked about it she became aggressive and wouldn’t explain herself. She took it off without getting the manager, which is suspicious. Don’t eat here, its not worth the headache or the theft.

So, the biggest thing was that the restaurant was freezing. Every time the door was opened the entire dining room was filled with freezing air. When our food arrived at our table, it was ice cold. We sent it back to get warmed up and it came back marginally warmer but still not great by any stretch of the imagination. It’s not anything special, and was uncomfortably cold :(

Really great ceasers here! Food is alright, I was hoping to order something healthy so I got a wrap and it came covered in grease. It tastes ok. The food server there was really nice so they get a slightly better review. I dont think Ill be back

When you come to a Ricky’s, I don’t think you’re expecting high quality food. However, it’s usually fine when I eat here. The service is great. Don’t pull a U-ey in front of the police station to get to the parking area!

So my friend and I came out here for brunch one Sunday. She kept raving about the eggs benedict so I figure let’s give it a try. Boo! Big disappointment. First of all, I ordered my eggs with soft yolks and they were too hard. The hollandaise sauce was ok but I’ve had way better. The hashbrowns were mediocre. The fruit tasted like fruit. I wouldn’t recommend the benny’s to anyone. The Caesar I used to wash my food down with was much better. There are lots of better places for breakfast so stay away from Ricky’s.

During my 3+ years in Western Canada, I had never really seen a need to eat at a Ricky’s. Online reviews were never spectacular, and there never seemed to be one located conveniently. But Sarah(my wife) and I found ourselves with two hours to kill around breakfast time in Mill Woods. To our knowledge, our options were Wendy’s, Tim Horton’s and Ricky’s. So we tried Ricky’s. I ordered an omelette with shrimp, pesto, sweet red peppers, and goat cheese, which came with a stack of three pancakes. While the omelette itself was well executed, I found that the pesto tasted as if it came from some sort of a concentrate. While I wouldn’t expect fresh pesto this time of year or from a chain restaurant, the graininess was off-putting. Additionally, there was a piece of shrimp tail in my omelette. The pancakes reminded me of the frozen pancakes that I used to eat when I was a kid. They were dense and powdery, but edible. Sarah ordered the Baked Eggs Florentine — which at Ricky’s consists of shredded hash browns topped with spinach, two poached eggs, and Mornay sauce — and baked. And this was nearly inedible. The Mornay sauce, which is a Bechamel with cheese, tasted somewhat powdery, and just a little off. And it all just turned into mush when you stuck a fork into it. The Eggs Florentine were redundantly served with Potato Wedges that tasted as if they came straight from a McCain bag. Service was friendly, and our waitress always made sure that we had water in our glasses.
