My favourite donair salad. Get it at least once a week I have tried other spots but always come back to Richards. Try out the baklava too.

Huge donairs! Even the $ 7 regular size was loaded with meat! I only wish that the price included more toppings than the standard lettuce, onions and tomato slices. Service was fast.

I’ve heard plenty about Richards since they opened, and have eaten there about a half dozen times since they did. Never really understood the hype. Today, I figured I should give them another, honest go. I’ve been earing at a number of donair shops recently(which I won’t admit to my Dr…), and figure that I have a good basis for comparison. Honestly…pretty disappointed. Perhaps the worst meat I’ve had of late. Sure… there was plenty of meat on my Super Donair… but t was salty. Too salty. The sauce took the edge off, but as sweet sauce goes, it wasn’t really very good either. So long as Buster’s is open accross the street, and better yet, Famous donairs isn’t far away… I won’t be back.

Great Northside donair joint in NW Edmonton, been coming here for my donair fixes for quite a while. Only complaint is serving sizes vary a bit, one day its massive and the next day its just big… Case in point the jumbo donair, at times you get giant delicious monstrosity some other times its just a larger super donair. Food is always fantastic though.

There are times when you just get that donair craving(and no you don’t have to be drunk to), this is the only place on the northwest that I hit. Prices are in line with most other places from $ 8 – 12 for a donair. They can be a bit too greasy, but you can ask them to hold the sauce or put very little. Then again, since I rarely eat donairs, if I’m going to have one, you just have to have that donair sauce loaded!!! Even when they are busy, orders don’t take long to make. Can be in and out within 10 minutes.

Delicious and generous portions. Always leave satisfied. Friendly atmosphere and casual environment. Pricing was typical for this type of restaurant. Will be back for sure. Food was fresh and hot and tasty.

Wandered in tonight based on the reviews here. I immediately found out that the ownership has changed. Having never tried the previous management I cannot compare but I can say that these new owners are super friendly. We ordered a custom pizza, a super donair(without lettuce), poutine, cheeseburger and fries. Much of their menu is being revamped, and they offered this as a poor substitute to what they will have, but what we got was pretty darn good. The pizza dough was fresh if not amazing, and the pizza was not greasy. The flavours were distinct and the cheese was well cooked. The sauce was a nice undertone, rich in seasoning. The donair was meaty with a good sauce, and satisfied me. I can’t wait to try one the way they want to do it. The poutine was regular fast food, mozza not curds, but the gravy had flavour. Their fries were cheap so not great but better than mediocre as a whole. All in all a pretty satisfying meal. The cook is a red seal chef and he cares about what he serves you can tell. I will be back. Their new menu coming out promises to be really good. This is a promising favourite as a new local eatery.

Generous sized donairs for the price, which is quite low. The meat is really good fresh and soft with a good amount of cheapness and good flavour. The sweet sauce I think could have more flavour, the garlic sauce is better but not that strong flavour. Again size is pretty big super is almost hard to finish, but in a good way. Chicken shawarma is good too worth a try.

I’m not a big fan of donairs, but my girlfriend loves them. Out of all the donair places we’ve tried, I have to say that Richard’s is my favourite. The food is delicious, the portions are ridiculously large. You won’t leave hungry. I didn’t like the fact that there are no fountain sodas-only cans and bottles. Not too shabby overall. Highly recommended.

Prompt service. Awesome donair! Didn’t know you could get a donair salad… Girlfriends are weird. Fries weren’t the best but all good.

We found Richard’s several years ago and it’s still our goto donair shop! I like that unless it is crazy busy, the meat is a little bit crispy, as well as you have the option of onions, lettuce and tomatoes, last time I even over heard someone asking for banana peppers on theirs. definitely going to add those to mine next time, if they will fit, as even the regular size is too big for me to finish! We tend to also order a side of fries and one of onion rings and if we are staying cans of pop and we also get 1 side of sauce as my daughter and I love it so much we put extra on. I don’t wanna know how many calories it is when I’m done slathering my donair with it! Never had a bad experience here, the staff is always friendly and efficient, I would definitely recommend it.

The food here is really up and down and inconsistent yet boasts the same cook. Just when I think they might be cleaning up their act I go again and am disappointed. A HUGE fan of a good donair, Richards has disappointed me for the last time. It’s not horrible or bad, it’s just not that good. On this occasion I had(Same as always) Donair w/cheese, fries and pop. As usaly, the fries were not that good, they were very bland and tasted frost bitten. They are usually stale and flavourless with no added salt. The donair as usual had a tonne of meat and the meat is nice and spicy, but for some reason the guy forgot my cheese, even though I paid for it, and added no sweet sauce? I don’t get why it is so inconsistent but I can’t afford to be disappointed again and for that I won’t be going back… The restaurant is clean with a TV for viewing(no9 volume) and lots of newspapers if want to catch up.

Had a donair and fries recently. piping hot, but the fries were really bland and tasted like the kind you buy in the fozen section at the supermarket. The donair was ok but nothing too special. When I was there the two guys working were on the phone and were not very customer friendly. On the positive side, the shop looked nice and clean. Not somewhere I’m itching to go to again.

Good food but sometimes they cheep out on the amount of sauce they give you.

Richard’s is really good. It is just like any other donair shop except they make their meat a little bit crispier than other places and it makes all the difference. The sauce is really good and they pack their donairs so they are practically bursting. You have to pick out some meat and eat it by itself but it is so tasty. That might turn some people away but I love it. One of the best donair places in the city.

This is really a review of donairs, which I had never had before. I had the great pleasure to be introduced to a donair, which is a Turkish dish similar to a gyro: roasted meat, usually lamb, veggies, a light and sweet creamy dressing, on a flat bread. i also had the meat pie which was some variation on the donair, with more dressing and some cheese, making it waaaay messier, and therefore somehow that much more delicious. The guy working that night was gracious in explaining to us what was a donair and recommending what to eat. This little dining counter was clean and affordable. And I have them to thank for turning me onto the donair!
