Been here several times. Daily specials are useful. Food is always made fresh and vegetables are always crisp. Portions are huge making their meals a great value. Although not as tasty as other Asian food places, they do a good job with the variety of items on the menu.

Horrible restaurant!!! If I could give them a zero I would. Food is awful and the service is even worse! If you want to have people call you«honey» while discussing your order and how they refuse to take ownness for their mistakes when messing up your order and over charging you please order from them. I will never get food from them again!

I’m not surprised by the bad reviews, as I know this place is a «love it or hate it» kinda place. Well I love it! The crispy ginger need is, indeed, CRISPY! Delicious! My favourite item on their menu is… No, not the cream cheese crab stuffed wontons(that’s definitely the close second)… But the salt and pepper shrimp are purely amazing. A bit spicy but not too much. Just order them, you won’t regret it. BF likes the lemon chicken and shrimp fried rice as well. Oh, and yes, the portions are generous. Those little boxes are never ending when you’re trying to get to the bottom.

This place still underwhelms. I cannot for the life of me understand why people rate it so highly.

We always order the Dinner for 2. Today, we did as usual, with a side of lemongrass chicken. As my husband was eating the beef veggie dish, he bit down on metal. He spit out 2 thin pieces of metal about 1-inch in length each. Originally thinking they were staples, upon closer inspection they looked like metal shavings! We called back immediately(this is all within 10 minutes of delivery). I had to wait for 2 call backs. They then sent the delivery man back to refund, but we ended up only getting $ 25 back(Order came to $ 49 with an extra side dish and tip), because«half the food was missing». Well, OFCOURSE it was missing! We dished out our family of 5’s food to begin eating. VERY disappointed. Who would be liable if my husband swallowed those and damaged his throat, stomach, or who knows what else? Shame on them for not willing to make it right for the customer.

We ordered from panda hut January 4th2015. We used to order all the time as it was so good and fresh, today was a big disappointment. The special fried rice wasn’t even fried, it was soggy bland and by no means special, we threw it out. the ginger beef, which used to be fantastic, today was full of vinegar and like old shoe leather. It disappoints me that the quality has dropped, & I will be looking for a new place to order from, very disappointing.

I ordered online on Wed Nov 19⁄14. The restaurant called to confirm order at 6:30 pm. The woman who called was in a big hurry to rush me off the phone. I had to slow her down two or three times during the call. She kept talking over my voice. I asked 4 times for her name. She said her name was Shirley. We finally agreed on the order. I asked for no MSG but she said it was in some of the food. I said OK. I ordered a large hot and sour soup and 4 veggie spring rolls. Total was $ 22.50 including $ 6 surcharge for delivery orders under $ 29.00. Food arrived at 7 pm to my hotel room. Veggie rolls were greasy and tasted ho hum. They did not taste home made. Hot and sour soup was a brown broth with veggies, tofu and some beef. I am used to a red coloured spicy hot and sour soup. It tasted OK. It was not large but only about 8 oz or so. Would not order again from this restaurant. Would suggest owner start working in the restaurant, train staff how to talk on the phone and provide online pictures of the dishes offered.

My favorite Chinese food in edmonton, I would have given five stars but the delivery usually takes a very long time but that being said, the food is always hot. Just make sure you order an hour before you want to eat. Delivery man is always friendly. The green onion cakes are my favorite and I love how if you order $ 40 or more you get free crab wontons, I wouldn’t of thought to order these but they ended up being amazing after getting our free order with our usual picks.

Panda Hut Express has got this nailed down. They serve massive amounts of tasty Chinese food for a great price and they figure a way to get it to you. They’re the only Chinese food place I’ve ever seen that has a Drive through. That’s right, you can walk in and order food like a peasant, or you can get a full 6 course Chinese Meal to go while listening to your radio.(Who am I kidding who listen’s to radio. I meant, while listening to your Itunes.) Let’s get to the nitty gritty … Food: I’ve been everywhere man, from Calgary, to Vancouver(yes, that means Richmond) to Hong Kong, and China. Panda Hut express serves tasty Chinese food. Now, as my gentle readers know, calling Chinese food«Chinese food» is a bit of a misnomer. There are so many styles of Chinese food, as many as there are different regions or dialects of China. The style that Panda Hut express serves, is what I would call the North American friendly style based on what immigrants from Hong Kong have brought over and popularized. AKA Chinese Food. And it’s tasty. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t go here expecting siu long bau(soup dumplings: A Shainghai style speciality), but I am actually astonished at the large assortment of dishes you can get. I can tell you, you will not be able to to get Deep Fried Wonton with crab meat and cream cheese($ 7.95)in a little shop in Hong Kong, but is it tasty? My white friends like it, and hey, if I can get a massive amount of spicy black pepper beef($ 11.95) I’m not going to complain. Value: As you can see here by the prices I’ve posted already it’s about 20% less expensive than most Chinese food in the city. Ambience: It’s clean. I know that sounds bad, but if you walk into Chinese restaurants, many of them just aren’t. So my review 5⁄5 ! Pros: Great huge heaping amounts of food for a great price You can order online and they have a mobile ordering app too Drive through. Cons They don’t serve beer. Man I’d love them to deliver beer at the same time The portions are too large. I’m a big guy and if I order a dish of the spicy beef and a thing of rice it makes for 3 meals!

Don’t go there. Food is average at best, service is unprofessional, and bathrooms are disgusting. Stay away…

Panda hut makes pretty good Chinese food, arguably the best that delivers to the meadows(east of mill woods). It would probably be better if I lived closer because we always get delivery. The deep fried stuff like calamari always ends up a little soggy. I still order it though because it’s delicious. Kudos to them for having such a large delivery radius!

Tonight we placed an order for delivery at 5pm. They called back to confirm at 5:10 pm, and told me I should expect my order in 45 mins. At 6:30 I called to check on the status of my order, at which time is was questioned on the who, what, when, where of how I placed my order and was told they couldn’t find it in the system and that they could call me back. I did not receive a call back. At 7pm the delivery finally arrived, and the driver was unable to do anything to rectify the situation. I called the restaurant immediately afterwards to let them know i was displeased with the customer service and the 2hour delivery time. The first person I spoke to on the phone’s response to my concern was«well, your order arrived, didn’t it?» and also let me know that my food wouldn’t be cold despite the 2 hour wait. I asked to speak to the manager. The manager was also unapologetic, saying that the driver was really busy and got lost, and again reinforced that I got my order, implying that I should not be complaining. I finally prompted him, asking if he was going to offer a refund or discount. He continued to try to hold his ground about e driver getting lost. I had to tell him that for customer service purposes he should be doing something since I was very displeased with the service. He finally offered me $ 20 off our next order. In short, I wouldn’t order from panda hut again, if it weren’t for my credit… This is the second time we’ve had a poor experience with delivery from them, so I think we’ll be on the search for a new Chinese takeout restaurant!

This is the only Chinese restaurant we order from. Unfortunately, they’re not consistent when it comes to delivery times. Sometimes they get here in about an hour, but we have had to wait for over two hours before. It’s just ridiculous. But that being said, we still only order from them. They have amazing food and if you’re not in a hurry, it’s worth the wait!

Just yuck. I’d say mall food court«chinese» is better than this, certainly cheaper for more variety. Panda Hut is the same as in the mall, except you pay $ 9+ for a whole container of this icky food instead of getting a plate of 3 or 4 items which might be tolerable in small doses. Maybe in the mall the food is not as fresh, but if the taste is no good what difference does it make? Overcooked, flavourless veg & noodles, gummy chewy lemon chicken served with desiccated bland rice… well truly what can one expect when the place has a drive-through! Certainly not chopsticks, forks or napkins in a take-out order, apparently that’s asking too much. One thing than can be said for this location is that it’s very clean. The staff speaks English and is friendly. There was also a good amount of BBQ pork in my chow mein, and the pork dumplings were OK. Maybe there’s a few things on the menu that are good, failsafe things like green onion cake, but I’d pass on the main dishes.

Tried the drive through on my way home tonight. Worked great. This is the first time I have ordered from Panda Hut and I’m very impressed. Had the lemongrass shrimp which was delicious. Comes with lots of veggies so you don’t really need to order extra but I didn’t know that so had mixed veggies with black bean sauce — also excellent Portions are large. Love the brightly colored boxes, and I do feel that the food is fresh. Next time I’ll try delivery, which is free is the south side with orders over $ 28. Very reasonable. Seem to have a good online ordering system also.

I love Panda Hut. A lot. The food is definitely North American Chinese food, and not really the same type of food I’ve had at more authentic restaurants my Chinese friends have taken me to. The portions are huge, and we don’t usually get Panda Hut unless we’re sharing with a group of friends, and leftovers are the norm. My favorite dishes are the lemon chicken and beef and broccoli; the only thing I wouldn’t recommend is the chicken fried rice. It’s good, but not great. We usually cook rice at home to eat with whatever we order. I’ve never used the drive thru, but take out in the restaurant is fast, and when we’ve phoned in orders or had delivery it’s been reasonably quick and our orders have been correct. They also call to confirm your delivery order, which I love. I save Panda Hut for days when I want a special treat because I always end up eating way more of it than I should.

Well the last thing that always sticks in my head is how pleasant the phone process and the delivery drivers are. Oh and the food is pretty decent as well. To be honest I initially just did not want to give this place a try. A drive thru window huh? Can’t be good must be gimmicky. Well to my surprise it was not all that bad. In fact it was good. I used to live in a different part of town and so had not ordered from here before but was assured that it was good by friends. So with both feet I dove in and ordered a whopping amount of food to try out. I am allergic to sea food but can relay that most everyone liked it. Portions are generous and who doesn’t’ like those movie style new york Chinese box containers! All glamour this place. Some sauces are extra on the side but for the most part what comes with is adequate. Food is above average western style fair if there is such a thing. Well in Edmonton I think it is now lol. We keep coming back and that says something in the end. Try it out and judge not like I did at first. Well shucks I think it is me who often says«don’t judge a book by its cover» Hope you enjoyed the crib notes review!

This used to be a restaurant I would easily overlook but Panda Hut won my heart when we met at the 2012 Taste of Edmonton. I fell madly in love with the deep fried won-tons with cream cheese & seafood filling. However, as I experience this place more and more, my love is beginning to fade and this place is quickly becoming a one dish wonder for me. Even in saying that, the won-tons are becoming a once in a while type dish as my stomach doesn’t seem to handle the deep fried greasiness very well. In general though, their menu is vast and their prices are comparable to other similar establishments. Unfortunately, it is the customer service here in particular that has begun to turn me off of this place. While waiting for my order the other day, I witnessed several employees leaning against the front counter, with their backs turned to the dinning room, eating a bowl full of food in between serving customers. Call me crazy, but there is something about this that just seems wrong to me. Since they gave us no order number, when our food was ready they packaged it up and just kind of left it until they noticed us starring at them in wonderment, and gestured in such a manner to indicate that this was our order(in between conversations and eating, of course — God forbid they walk the 6 steps over to where we are sitting to let us know our order was ready). When we approached the counter, every single employee turned their backs to us and did not say one word(no ‘thank you’, no ‘have a good night’, no eye contact whatsoever). If the staff care this much about the customers, I can only imagine how much care and attention they put into preparing the food(…or not!). I am on the fence here — do I give 2 or 3 stars? Guess I’m in a good mood today…

i must admit that what draws my family to Panda Hut Express is the fact that there are numerous B1G1 free coupons available in both the Entertainment Book and SUTP Coupon Book.(And I must admit that without the coupons I would probably give them 3 stars as I think their prices are a little high.) We regularly stop by for an order to go after shopping in South Common before heading home. We usually order Wor Won Ton Soup — filled with lots of veggies — broccoli, bok choy, baby corn, carrots; prawns, various meats — chicken, bbq pork; and won tons of course! I have to say that I find their won tons to be a little bit on the softer side so I’m not such a fan of the soup as leftovers but my husband and toddler devour it and love it as left overs! We usually also have the Lemongrass Shirmp Combo — comes with fried rice and house chow mein. We quite like their fried rice but find their house chow mein a little on the bland side. This location used to be a Burger King(?) so they have an indoor play structure for kids and a drive thru!(Pics uploaded) Definitely fresh tasting and the stir fried items(what we order) are never greasy! If you’re on the south side give them a try — they are open late(11 – 11 most days).
