Worst location I have ever been to. Should of known it be bad from the beginning. Went in totally ignored by the hostess, she was unfriendly, then the waitress was even ruder. Came in for their new promo pancakes and they were out of the strawberry cream cheese ones. Not too sure how this happens when you just started the promo. Waitress had no personality seems like she actually hates her job. Started off with asking drinks both of us started off with just waters, she rolls her eyes and walks away. We usually get a beverage when the meal arrives but she never asked slammed the plates down when food came out. Real classy by the way. The whole experience was just terrible. By the way we have been coming here since opening day and that was a terrible experience too but expected it hasn’t gotten any better since probably not going to return don’t waste your money and time just avoid

Lines up out the door. Well worth the wait as this place always seems busy. Pancakes are a must which is a no brainer considering the name. The hash browns were surprisingly amazing as well. Definitely coming back.

Only my second time here. I ordered a turkey dinner. The only bit that was palatable was the broccoli. Turkey was slathered in a layer of canned gravy, which had congealed. As well it was sliced turkey loaf that was overcooked and tough around the edges. The stuffing was soggy and the potatoes were lumpy. If you want something good here stick to pancakes.

My wife and sons wanted a nice Sunday morning breakfast, we decided to pass up our regular Coras to try IHOP. The last time we ate at IHOP was when they first opened on the Southside about 5 years ago. We got in and there was a bit of wait maybe 10 mins. That was to be expected. My wife is celiac so we were worried about what choices she would have. Our water came quickly but seemee hurried and disorganized, but he did answer all of questions and was quick to offer some gluten free options. My 2 sons aged 4 and 2 both wanted the children’s pancakes. I ordered the basic egg breakfast with pancakes. My wife ordered an omelet. The food came fast but was missing some things which was brought over by another server. As we were eating my wife got a few bites into her omelet and was a little concerned when something came oozing out of the middle. I called the server over to question and he assured us that the omelet was GF. He did offer to check with the cooks in the back and we agreed he should. He came a few minutes later with an opened bag of Knorr cheese sauce and showed us the ingredients. Informed us that this was in fact the oozing substance in the middle of her omelet. My wife didn’t eat much more of her breakfast. I ate my eggs and hash and sausage. I had a couple bites of the pancakes but they left a horrible taste in my mouth. My boys ate everything on their plates. I till after lunch couldn’t get the taste out of my mouth and my wife and I both complained about the upset stomachs we had for the bulk of the day. I felt the food was fresh but all of it was… I don’t know how to articulate the way I feel about the food. I just know we probably would never go back. The serving staff were helpful but the food was terrible.

I really like the North Side Location of the IHOP. Even on really busy days I have always received exceptional service. The servers are friendly and make you feel like you are at home eating your pancakes. The food is always pretty good. You cannot go wrong with a traditional stack of buttermilk pancakes and side of bacon. You also get a good amount of food with a meal so you do not often leave hungry. It can get very busy on the weekends, usually the weekdays are not too crazy and you get seated and fed quick. I would also recommend signing up online for their rewards program, you get a free stack of pancakes for signing up and one on your birthday!

Its a very«meh» quality breakfast place with bland food and prices a bit too high for the quantity that you get. But the servers are very nice and deal with the weekend rushes well. Best time to go is breakfast or brunch during a week day for a coffee and quick bite.

Very strong coffee, I’m a french toast lover and this has by far been the worst french toast I’ve had, hard sides barely able to cut it. I’ve tried to come here a few times now and each time it’s been another reason why I won’t return poor quality of food! If your a bacon lover don’t try it you will be disgusted! Only thing nice here are the servers

So I went to IHOP this morning at 635 went to go in after the waitress that where outside smoking then they told us they where notready to open yet. When I ask if it was alright to sit inside to wait we where told no. We where asked to wait outside. For this reason alone I will never go back this was not the first unpleasant visit to this location. Even the food is a hot and miss was going to give it a try again but like I said will never return again

I tried coming here the other day I think it was a Sunday and the line up was CRAZY! The guy said it should only be about 20 minutes There was at least 50 people in line of groups of I don’t even know Then I said are you sure 20 minutes he said We’ll that’s a rough minimum estimate So more like 1 hour waiting ! Be prepared to stand in line for a very long time ! with no seating

I was torn between whether to give 3 stars or 4. The food is only 3 to 3.5 stars; however what tipped the scales for me, in awarding 4 stars, was the service. That being said, I went there on Wednesday in the late morning so it wasn’t very busy. I can’t speak for the quality of service during peak breakfast hours on weekends. I ordered the blueberry pancakes in a combo with eggs and bacon, my friend ordered the same but with cinnamon pancakes. Our waitress was very attentive, although she wasn’t well acquainted with the menu. Despite that our meal was quite good. Nothing extraordinary, but a step up from Denny’s or Smitty’s. Our waitress even came back with extra bacon for me when she saw that the bacon was a little crispy(even though I thought it was fine). I would definitely go back, the food and service were good, and it is priced reasonably. Having said that, if you are planning on going on the weekend for breakfast when it is busy you may not have the same experience as me.

I’m not even giving one star, service is crap, don’t bother coming here if your in a rush. Was seated and she didn’t even give me menu had to get up to retrieve menu myself and looked around for service for coffee 10 mins. Food did not arrive for 15 mins, how hard is it to make 3 pancakes with less than half the place with people. This is 2nd time here, will not be coming back. Had to put up one star but they don’t deserve.

It’s a big restaurant so lots of seating. Our food was good. The service needs some improvement. For example, there are no substitutions on the weekend… not even toast for pancakes… bottomless drinks weren’t refilled, the coffee carafe wasn’t checked etc… all these small things that add up to the overall experience so the little things matter. IHOP prices are such that one should be able to expect quality service. This was our first time here, we won’t rule them out based on this one experience. Food was good enough to give this IHOP a second try.

My wife and I first tried IHOP in Vancouver in 2009 and absolutely loved it. The food was great(especially when compared to Humpty’s or Denny’s), the prices good and the service quick and friendly. When we noticed that they building one on 127 Street in Castledowns, we were excited. We dropped in shortly after it opened and I’m happy to say it’s as good, if not better, than the southside location. It is great for little ones — they take drink orders minutes after you sit down and bring them right away, as well as the standard crayons and colouring kit most places have. Now that doesn’t really set them apart, but even though the line-up was practically out the door, we had a table in less than 10 minutes and food shortly after we ordered. One of the best things we ordered was the Bacon Temptation omelette — and all you need to know is this… SIX strips of bacon! We had the Stuffed French Toast and while we enjoyed it tremendously, it was pretty sweet. Our little one ordered the Funny Face pancake which seemed to be a one-inch thick slice of chocolate cake topped with whipped cream, cherries and chocolate chips in the shape of a face. Best of all, it wasn’t super sweet and didn’t send her into a sugar-fuelled hyperactive fit after she ate it. I reviewed the southside location a year or two ago after they opened and it became our go-to breakfast place whenever we were heading south out of the city. While there once, I teased the owner that he had to build one on the northside and he asked me where to build it — I told him 97 or 127 street. So everybody here knows who to thank… ;)

My wife and I first visited this new IHOP location the weekend it opened. The location was overpacked with customers, yet the staff managed to provide impeccable service. We came again and the service quality was reduced a tad. The glass of coke that I ordered appeared to still be dirty and had food all over one side. Fast forward to today, we wanted IHOP and came with our son(6months old). We were promptly seated, however no service. There were three employees sitting down chatting. The manager even came out to scan the floor. Multiple employees made eye contact with us. Yet not a single soul came over to apologize for the delay, offer drinks, nor take our order. After 30−45mins I had enough, as our son was becoming tired and cranky. I put him in the car as my wife spoke to management. They then requested I come in to speak with them. They wanted us back and promised food in 5mins. They did not comprehend the waste of time this was and those with kids will know. That once they are kranky tired and you get them asleep, you dont remove them. So I said no. The manager gave us a voucher for $ 20. Its an odd sum as you will most likely exceed $ 20 when two people are eating there. But I accepted it. We will be back, but I strongly hope they crack the whip and demand better service performance by their servers.

Great breakfast joint. Better than the southside location. Fluffy pancakes and french toast. Good service. Unlimited coffee and drink refills. I came here for breakfast on a weekday. I havent been on a weekend yet. But so far after a few visits I am impressed. Place is located near the save on foods in northside on 127 st. Theres plenty of parking. Once inside the place is really clean. Its new and its been taken care of not like the rundown joints like humptys or dennys. Once seated they give u drinks and a huge mug of unlimited coffee. I love this concept bc when I order coffee I can chug cups of it down if its free refills. Here theres no wait so bonus star for that! I ordered the make your own pancake deal. With eggs bacon and cheesecake pancakes. Yup you heard me… bits of cut up cheesecake infused in the pancake with every bite. There was no need for maple syrup as the taste was suprisingly perfect. The hot cakes were fluffy and tasty. Yum… do try them here. Really good. For only $ 10 it was a steal of a deal too! My son always steers away from kids menus and ordered the banana foster french toast. I have to say it was pretty darn good. It tasted way better than it sounded. It had to top my list of best french toast ive had in years. My son gobbled it down and mentioned he loved this place. The toast was soft and drizzled with caramalized sauce with bananas. It was simple and tasty. For kid meals… most of them offer small portions of meals for $ 5. Like one egg, pancake and bacon with a drink. They looked like good deals so ill try it next time im in. Place was somewhat busy but did not affect the service. Our waitress was prompt and provided everything we needed. The only downside I noticed is that meals came with not even one peice of fruit. A sliver of an orange would be nice for a carbed up meal drenched in sugar. But hey I guess you can order it on the side. Overall with unlimited no hassle coffee refills, great breakfast items… ill be coming back for breakfast more often.

I’m am going to skip my normal use of the scale and jump right into things. This is officially the worst dinning experience ive had since 2012. Seriously like other reviews, people had no sense of ugency and people treat you like shit here. No sure if their racist or not? If you spend more that 2 hours for breakfast… enough said, there is no excuses. I am not a sympathetic as other people especially that of a franchise restaurant, want breakfast on the northside area, go to tutti frutti, WAYWAYWAY better

I fully understand this being their first week open there will be a few kinks to work out and for the most part i believe they have. The place is still incredibly busy with wait times being around 25 – 30 they tell you. Ours was around 45 minutes. I don’t see the problem most ppl had with empty tables not being clean fast as they were right on it when we were there. Also I seen complaints of the manager and I did see him there running the front and getting ppl seated etc. I think I was more disappointed in the general rudness and lack of understanding in the ppl that were waiting, between the comments and the rude woman that put her leg out to trip me as I was going out I just about lost it. If anything I believe that would be my main complaint that they need to not allow so many ppl to block the inner area as ppl are generally rude and won’t let you by. Anyways I had the create your sweet crêpe deal with the strawberrys and cream, it being my first time I was kind of the fence but wouldn’t get those again as was kind of weak in flavor. I did enjoy the hash brown, bacon, sausage though. I would ask for medium or whatever you call it as my egg had that jiggly white stuff I hate but my fault again and I do thank our waiter for suggesting a better option for next time as he did see my bf and I switching plates(bf had same thing and said it was great). His father had some kind of spinach omelet which was huge with toast and I forget what else and ended up taking half home. Yay breakfast for tomorrow. I do have to add that my boyfriend originally wanted the I believe it was country fried steak but they were out of it. All in all not bad I’m sure they’ll work out the kinks in mth or so as the management had told us. I do not envy them working their butts off as I’m sure right now it’s non stop, add on impatient ppl. Gluck and sorry the guy in front of us that figured .25 was a great tip. Way to go

This is a great addition to our part of town. I’m a big fan of breakfast, and IHOP is one of my favourite places for a quick, tasty meal that won’t break the bank. Shawn and I went in today for lunch with our son, and the experience was good. Finn had a good time in his high chair, and the staff were great with him. The food was fast and fresh, our server was efficient at greeting us, taking our order, and clearing our table, and all the other staff we encountered were equally friendly and helpful. We didn’t see any of the opening weekend issues that other reviewers encountered. Tables were being turned over quickly, all the service we witnessed was prompt and happy. Of they can keep it up, we will be regular customers.
