This location is always kinda messy and slightly disorganized. Sales staff can be hit and miss; some are really friendly and knowledgeable, and some have no idea where anything is, and are really ambivalent. Good selection of Henckels knives, which is what I came for. Not my go-to destination. I only came here because I had a gift card. I probably won’t be back.

I recently visited the Home Outfitters at South Common in Edmonton and was extremely disappointed. I’ve been to several Home Outfitters in the past, and this one was probably the worst I’ve experienced. The issues I had were the fact that there were a LOT of shelves empty — and shelves that did have stock were messy and in disarray. The store just looked downright messy and uninviting. They were having a clearance sale — but that should not be an excuse for a store to not clean up. I was also disappointed in their selection. I wasn’t really looking for specific items, but I was expecting to find more than what they did have. I’ve seen better selections in other Home Outfitters and I’m hoping it was just a bad day to visit and that this is not their normal environment.

I really think I’ll be sticking with bed bath & beyond. This was my first & last experience with Home Outfitters… So I just move to Edmonton, I’m browsing South Common, and myself, being a home decorating freak, had to stop in! I walked around the store(identical to BB&B)… And I happened to find my DKNY bath set that BB&B had discontinued. The last piece I needed to complete the set was the shower curtain. They had one left, the display model. As I am quite short, I asked a sales associate to help my get it down and back into the original packaging so I could finally purchase the matching $ 50 shower curtain that I couldn’t find anywhere but here. So! The associate actually said something along the lines of «Sorry miss, we don’t sell the floor models until we discontinue the product, however i would be glad to check with the other stores for you.» I was slightly annoyed.(I’m actually willing to throw a 50 down on a shower curtain and your telling me to go somewhere else…) So I said ok, as she made about 2 phone calls. No luck. So instead, she asks me for my name and number and tells me that she will call me as soon as the shower curtain comes to the store. So anyways, I went back about a month later, the floor model was gone… and I had never received a call. This might seem silly, but I am a strong believer in customer service. I know«Customer Service? In 2012? HAH!» I am still very disappointed considering the entire product line is now completely discontinued and no where to be found. :(

Being a kitchen nerd, this store is one of my favorites places to just browse around for hours, which is pretty impressive, since I’m not a browser. Normally, my shopping trips are conducted like a black ops mission — plan out what to buy, follow up with a surgical strike at the check out, and disappear before anyone knows I was there. Not here. At this store, I linger. I loiter. I lounge. I’m a little surprised that the staff haven’t called the police to drag my butt out of there, actually. Prices are reasonable, the staff are friendly and helpful, and if they don’t have something that I’m looking for, Bed, Bath & Beyond is right next door.:) (Yes, I copied and pasted my review for BB&B. It’s late, and I’m lazy.)

Home Outfitters offers a good range of home products. Decorating is made simple with it’s plentiful variety of options especially in the linen category. Deals can be found in the aisles of this store with higher priced and often higher quality items in the back rows. One of the biggest advantages of this store is it’s friendly staff, they are more than willing to offer suggestions and actively promote sale items as opposed to regular priced ones, a service hard to find at most home improvement stores! Nothing makes this store unique from other Home Outfitter stores though, it’s layout is standard.

Home Outfitters is another store that carries mostly home décor, furniture, etc. If you are decorating your house they have everything you could need. The prices are competitive and the staff is friendly but the store itself didn’t really set itself apart from others of its kind. If anything it just reminded me of them. I never came across an item that made me think Home Outfitters was the only place I could find it. Overall the store is decent and has lots to offer but that could but said about many stores of this kind. Home Outfitters is nothing special.

I had fun looking through Home Outfitters today. It wasn’t crazy busy which was surprising considering it was boxing day. These guys have everything that you could possibly need for your house. They have bedding, kitchen supplies and appliances, home décor, paintings, everything! They didn’t really have any good deals for boxing day which was upsetting but I still loved looking around at all the beautiful stuff. We found some cookware sets(pots and pans) that were $ 900! That’s just crazy no matter how you look at it. There were really nice though. We didn’t encounter any staff at all during our 2 rounds throughout the store. Needless to say, they didn’t score very highly in the service department. If you need stuff for your home, this a good place to go. Just make sure you have the money to spend.
