Terrible customer service! I would have to be desperate to shop here again. The woman working was rude and unhelpful. I did not enjoy this experience at all.

Estee’s offers fabrics that are higher quality and thus higher priced, and as such caters to those who have taken on sewing as something more than a hobby. I’ve been in two or three times and have found the staff to be less than helpful — I’ve not been greeted, and have had to ask for assistance. They are often helping other customers who will likely be spending more money than myself. When I was in last weekend, there was a young woman new to the store and new to sewing but looking for knit fabric. After asking for assistance, she was directed to the front of the store. As I was preparing to leave, I politely mentioned to her that Marshall’s has a better selection and better prices. I gladly share that recommendation with the rest of you as well :) With all of that said, this is one of the best places in town for specialty buttons, and that’s what brought me in most recently. I needed a button to finish off a toque I’d knitted, and picked out two beautiful ones for a total cost of about $ 11.00. Estee’s leaves a lot to be desired, but hey, they have nice buttons! :)

I’ll have to be desperate to go back here. I had purchased 2 Swarmjam vouchers, and used the second one today, as it was the last day to use it. Living on the North side, it’s a trek to get to this location. 99 Street and essentially the Whitemud. I was greeted this time after a few minutes of my arrival and told that everything was on sale, not including the clearance items. After finding what I had wanted to purchase, and waiting patiently for it to be measured, I proceeded to the till. I realized today that the till is also a cutting station, so with 3 other women fawning over fabrics, it was quite congested. Once I presented my Swarmjam voucher, I was told that I had to choose. Use the voucher or take the discount, couldn’t have both. Well… my voucher expired today, so I said I’d like to use the voucher. It was worth $ 40 and I had paid $ 20 for it. The one lady(manager, maybe?) offered to extend it for 1 more week, which I declined. It’s highly unlikely I would make it back to their location within the next few days. The difference between the original total and what I paid was about $ 16, so I didn’t even save what I paid for the voucher. It’s a shame that there aren’t many fabric store options in Edmonton.
