I don’t usually frequent this A&W, however I stopped here for breakfast while I was on my way to a conference at the Ramada on Kingsway. This restaurant is a bit rundown. However, there is a sign saying they are doing renos. I arrived between 7 – 7:15am. It wasn’t busy. I ordered my food and before I could pull out my cash to pay, the cashier had set up the debit machine. I get that most people pay with debit nowadays, even myself. However, I actually had cash to use. I paid with card because she had already walked away from me. My food was ready pretty quickly. My hash brown came in a little wire basket. However, it was only lukewarm. My bacon n egger was slightly warmer. As I was hungry and on a time crunch, I didn’t say anything. As much as I love A&W breakfast, I will not come back to this A&W.

A&W are known mainly as being a higher class fast food burger joint. I am on the fence… A meal to fill 2 people up cost almost $ 25. Two mozzarella burgers a poutine and onion rings. Yes, I will admit the burgers are tasty but they have a fake looking grill mark on the buns. The onion rings seemed to have been sitting under the heating lamp for a while and were extremely salty! Overall I wasn’t too impressed and will probably stick with a cheater option when satisfying my burger fix.

I’ve had better A&W food before, but the one advantage of the staff not cooking my food upon order is that with the food waiting for the next customer, my order was up before I could blink. Lightning fast service. This was perfect for me on the day that I visited as I was in a rush.
