Fix It Again Sam

I wish we’d read these reviews before we dropped off our lamp. He’s held it hostage a month now, after telling us the job would take a week — no explanations. I haven’t much optimism he’s going to fix it or that he’s even looked at it. I guess we’ll go rescue it and consider the $ 10 deposit the ransom. What a waste of time and money. :(

Kept lawn mower for a year! Didn’t fix it, claiming it would be too expensive to fix or replace the motor. Kept the $ 40 deposit without justifying or doing any work. Crook.

Very shady business practice.
I told the owner my lamp socket was loose and bulb wouldn’t turn on. Also I had a table fan that needed lubrication. He immediately told me it was $ 10 deposit for each item to look at. I asked if he could listen to the fan and possibly quote me repair cost since I didn’t want to pay more than I did for the fan. He proceeded to plug the fan in to hear the problem. He then informed me the bearings needed lubrication (which I have no problem fixing and paying for). Then I put lamp on the counter where I noticed it came unthreaded under the shade and tightened it in front of the owner. I then asked if he could plug it in to see if I discovered the problem hopefully saving myself embarrassment of leaving a perfectly good lamp for no reason and some money.
The owner refused to plug in the lamp citing concerns for power surging. I asks why the fan posed no threat however the lamp did. He had no answer.
I took my fan and lamp and informed him that not plugging it in seemed a little peculiar and that I did not want to do business with him. Sure enough when I got home my lamp worked perfectly. I think he and I both knew I had repaired an item he wished he could have taken money for doing nothing.

Terrible place… Two weeks turned in to six months and it still wasn’t fixed. I went back and got my equipment, There was no apologies, they shorted me on my deposit (i was so thrown off i didnt realize till after) and were just rude for no reason… Stay away

This place is strange. They once supplied me with some rare oil. And they are a rare repair shop in Toronto. But I have a pressure washer in with them that I delivered to them in August 2010. It’s pushing February 2011 and they still haven’t gotten back to me, even after several phone calls and emails. Their excuse is parts delivery. The fact that it’s pricey as well doesn’t help.
