The food is okay, not great but good. I found it over-priced though, especially for the portion sizes. I love Thai food but am still looking for a restaurant in the area I’d return to.

Ya … it’s probably not a good thing when you walk into a «new» restaurant and realize«wait a minute, I HAVE been here before». My wife and I joined two of our BFF’s for dinner at Bangkok spoon. The restaurant itself has a nice modern feel to it. The initial greeting on entering was friendly. The service through out the night was efficient, but not overly friend. Our dining companions had already ordered some appetizers for out table, including vegetarian spring rolls and coconut shrimp, which arrived a few minutes after we sat down. Both dishes included a typical sweet thai dipping sauce. The spring rolls were crisp and flavorful, while not overly hot(luke warm in the center). The coconut shrimp fared similarly and was good, but served warm. I suspect that the appetizers were being cooked in advance and then plated as the order arrives and not cooked on demand. For our main dishes we order: The Chef Special Pad Thai, which was Chef Special disappointing. Somewhat over cooked noodles served in a rubbery egg wrapping with a ho-hum sauce. The menu boasted«served with shrimp, pork and tofu». While I received one shrimp, my wife received none of the stated ingredients. Mango Chicken. While decent it lacked any real zip and I felt the sauce was bland. Mixed Vegetables. This one they got right. I’m often presented with a plate of vegetables cooked in a gelatinous mess when ordering«Mixed Vegetables». Bangkok Spoon’s veggies contained a nice mix of vegetables in a mild and flavorful sauce. The portion sizes are small, especially when compared to the pricing. The Pad-Thai came in at $ 14.95 with the other dishes hovering around the $ 10 dollar mark. Our party of 4 with one glass of wine, cost $ 100 with tax and tip. Bangkok spoon isn’t bad, it’s just more like a RomCom, ok while you’re there but forgettable once you’ve left.

This is one great thai restaurant. The staff are friendly and always coming to fill your water or check on you. The inside and outside is very modern and pleasant looking. We got the Bangkok Pad Thai, Green Curry Chicken, and Kang Massaman Lamb. The Bangkok Pad Thai was great and tasted pretty authentic. They don’t use the ketchupy pad thai sauce that some less genuine places use. It was a bit sweet but overall pretty good. I’d probably want to try the regular pad thai next time. The Kang Massaman Lamb was just amazing. Delicious curry sauce and very tender lamb as well. The green curry chicken on the other hand was spicier than expected and the chicken wasn’t the best quality. One thing to note is that they don’t include steamed rice with the curry dishes though so make sure to order some to complement them.

Decent food and interior… small portions. Thai restaurants are usually known for the generous portions they offer. Its often difficult for one person to eat an order of Pad Thai. You won’t have that problem at Bangkok Spoon as their lunch specials are somewhat on the«smallish» side. The interior is new and they have some bench seating and some tables., The tables for two are very wide and you will be a long distance away from your guest; not great for a romantic evening. If you go with a group of 3 or 4, seating options are better. The service is quick and the food is average. They have a variety of lunch specials for $ 10.99 which all include rice and a spring roll. If you’re looking for a «cleaner» place to eat in the areas, Bangkok Spoon is good.

Food is really just OK if you’ve ever had the real Thai food. We got the Thai salad and the chicken didn’t taste fresh, shrimps tasted fishy. But the sauce was pretty good. We both got pad Thai, it was way too sweet, I had to keep drinking water to finish it. The portion of the pas Thai wasn’t big for that price, I get better taste pad Thai in Toronto for the same price but with a much bigger portion. Overall this place is probably the best Thai food in Dundas but it’s actually a very average Thai restaurant.

I always come to Bangkok Spoon whenever I have a craving for Thai food. Their food is flavourful and the portions are enough to share with family or friends. The servers are very friendly and I’ve waited long for the dishes to come.

I’ve had the pleasure of having the duck curry, and the spicy duck. Let’s spare the elegant description; they… were… DYNAMITE! A great combination of complementary Thai flavours. For the curry, a whole lot of savoury with just the right amount of sweet. It’s worth mentioning that the décor is very nice, and the service is great.

Bangkok spoon is incredible. If I have to find something to gripe about, it’s the portion size on their lunch menu, but it’s not that bad. BS hits the flavours dead on, with a great balance of lime, basil, lemongrass and curries. Everything tastes really fresh, and the presentation is excellent. Also, the restaurant is very nicely decorated. Everything about this place feels authentic. 5 stars!

I rarely if ever give 5 stars and this place is probably closer to a 4 but the service was exceptional. I’ve never seen three people waiting on a table preempting your every need. The food was very good as well. If it wasn’t out of town, I would eat here A LOT.

Bangkok Spoon is a real gem in the heart of Dundas. The staff is really friendly, service is excellent, ambiance is really nice, and last but not least, food is excellent! The menu offers lots of options and shall satisfy everyone. The vegetarian options are delicious. We had the green mango salad which was really fresh and tasteful. Then we had the mixed vegetables, kang ped phak(curry vegetables) and the cashew nut tofu. All dishes were beautiful, delicious and well cooked with al dente vegetables and delicious sauces. We will be back for sure.

The best Thai food I’ve ever had! The golden curry chicken is truly to die for, as are the soups, pans be tofu, and duck and lamb dishes. The service is extremely prompt, and the servers are attentive, friendly, and conscientious. They have a beautiful patio off the side, and the décor and ambience throughout the whole place is top-notch. I have been to the Bangkok Spoon many times with family and friends, and we have always been delighted with the experience. A truly great restaurant!

Great staff, nice décor. As great as they were I think they are understaffed, slow at times and confusion about where to take food. The food was good, nothing outstanding. I would go again.

Best Thai food, excellent service… enough said! Location is excellent! Décor is pleasant, food presentation very appealing and food is very tasty. My husband had the tamarind chicken and sticky rice and I had tofu panang with sticky rice(pics). We shared some spring rolls to start and they were huge and delicious! We definitely will be going back!

Clean, modern environment — impressively fast service during a busy lunch hour — great food! Definitely try the deep fried spring rolls, they’re perfectly crispy, and I highly recommend the med spicy duck curry along with a Sapporo!

I like Bangkok Spoon! Don’t understand why this place isn’t rated higher. It is the only IMO decent, reasonably priced restaurant in Dundas. Since I was here last time they have added new items to the menu. I highly recommend Chef’s Special 9 — a clay hot pot of glass noodles, tofu, black bean sauce, mushrooms and baby bok choy. We have been here with a group of 6 with three kids and it was great. Noise level is a little loud and service is super fast. Nice ambiance. Food has been consistently good when I’ve been here. It’s a good place to meet up with friends in a low key way. Food is good and better than the other Thai places in the area — a little bit different on taste but I prefer it to the normal Canadian-Thai fare. Do note that the portions are actually reasonably sized here — they aren’t super giant as we have been accustomed to.

I went here for supper with my boyfriend and he got the pad Thai. It was the non authentic red sauce pad thai(made with ketchup). Gross… It said authentic pad Thai and it clearly was not. We won’t be returning.

Very nice room. The dishes are better than most Thai restaurants. Mango salad has an unexpected caramel kind of taste that is rich and delicious. Fresh roll was less than thrilling. Cashew shrimp was pretty good. Pad Thai was an unattractive grey, but tasted good. I haven’t been through Dundas in many years, and this place seems like quite an oasis from the Dundas that I remember. On a rainy sunday evening, the large dining room is almost full, so apparently, I’m not the only one that thought so.
