Matt and his staff are known for their friendly and helpful service. If you need help in choosing colors for your quilt, stuck on a pattern or if you just want a place to hang out, come see us! We encourage browsers. Even if you don’t quilt come on in and see the samples we have around the store. Who knows, you might get «the bug» too! Our classes range from the very basic for beginners to the more challenging for seasoned quilters. The number one ingredient in our classes is fun, and there’s always follow-​up help for those who need it.

History

Established in 2001.

Opened in 2001, The Quilted Bear has been a mainstay for local quilters and visitors to the area ever since. Matt Wheeler took over ownership in May of 2010 and has increased inventory, added classes and helped to establish The Quilted Bear as one of the best Quilt Shops in the Lower Mainland!

Business Owner

Matt Wheeler has been influenced by the craft of Quilting his whole life. Both his mother and grandmother quilt and he caught the bug at an early age. He began to quilt serioulsy ten years ago and when the opportunity presented itself to purchase The Quilted Bear he jumped at the chance.
