I had 3 beef tacos at Windmill location. Food is good, but I feel ripped off. Very small, 3 for 10 $, for after tax and a 1.50 tip(excellent service) its like 13 $. They should throw in a drink or something. Ill stick to Cheese Curds which has amazing value.

Absolutely love this place. I get something different every time and it’s always delicious. Jalapeño carrots, pickled onions, cilantro are some of my favorite toppings. Lime cilantro or mango sour cream are two of my favs.

Delicious! Everytime I go I get the pulled pork burito bowl with half of each style rice. And it’s always perfect. The pulled pork is soft and tasty and the rice is always done perfectly, not to spicy when mixed with the other style rice. The pizza and nachos are also a must! Be back soon!

Taco and burrito places are popping up all over the place these days in many Canadian cities. It appears to be the new fangled Subway of the mid 90’s. They offer up a healthier and hopefully fresher alternative to burritos, tacos, salads and other Tex-Mex/Cali-Mex items. In this location was a burger place and this taco bar. I’m really liking these multiple restaurant choices under one roof. Selection and choice is a boredom breaker. So after looking at the burger place… I decided to go with a big filling burrito. For me the. US burrito chains have it down pat and know how to do big burritos. If you want even better options try to find a burrito or taco truck in any big metropolitan American city. Canadian chains such as Mucho Burrito and Quesada have much to learn from American burrito shops. Skip over to Habaneros they do a solid 3.5÷5 burrito. I decided to go with the buffalo chicken Caesar burrito(on special for $ 8.95). With this it was filled up with a healthy serving of rice and vegetables that when it was all wrapped up looked like a small baby football. Ready to be devoured to end up in my tummy! Taste and flavour was fresh and it was a bit wet so you have to be careful when eating to not get it on the pants or shirt or end up looking like a sloppy dufus! If I was to do this again I’d come back and try something else. The joy of these places is selection is good and there is enough choices to keep you not bored with eating the same thing. Pricing is really good. With a drink you can get out of here for $ 13 – 14 max taxes in. No issues with service and they do your lunch fairly quick.

Finally people of Halifax have grasped the concept that a burrito is not what you get at Taco Bell. There is a bit of a modern twist on what is served here but overall it is outstanding and I’ve found myself driving all around the Bedford Basin to go to the one in Burnside… that is a trek I won’t make for many places. I’ve eaten at all 3 locations and same quality at all three and same friendly staff. The only way it could get better is if it was closer to my house.

Yes please! I have eaten here a few times, but have only had the pork tacos. They are so yummy that I don’t want to love something else less than the pork! I have, however, played around with the toppings, and so have managed to have variety within my three tacos. The are so many fresh toppings and salsas. The pickled carrots are a favourite, and I love that they have fresh jalapeños. Everything always tastes really fresh and when they say spicy, you get spicy. I really like then flavoured sour creams too. I really like the«duo» tacos, as I prefer the taste of crunch corn but appreciate the practically of wheat. Wrapping the corn in wheat prevents the dreaded taco split. Yay! I also like that it shares the space with Cheese Curds. Sometimes my family doesn’t all agree on what we want, and this broadens the option. I highly recommend going. However, writing this review has left me with a huge craving for Habaneros. I think they will see me soon :)

This is only the second time I have ever posted on Unilocal, but I felt obligated to pass on what a terrible place this is. First off while placing my order I had to repeat it about 15 times as the staff didn’t seem to be paying any attention to me for more than 1s at a time The next problem is what you actually get in the tacos. As you can see by the photo I have added, you don’t get much, and I mean for almost $ 10 after tax this is a complete rip-off I almost thought of leaving as I was watching the staff make the tiny things, but I decided to stick it out and pay the ridiculous price so that I could see what these minuscule tacos packed that they were getting 5 star reviews. Well I wish I had of left before completing my order, as the 1 tiny piece of meat I got in my taco was tasteless, and the only thing that had some taste to it was the salsa that they added. As Cheese Curds is owned by the same person I will probably never eat there again now either. If you are looking to have a taco you would be better off going to Taco Bell than subjecting yourself to the garbage that they serve here

If you like tacos(if you’re checking out a taco bar, I’m guessing you do) and aren’t a fussy eater, you really can’t go wrong here. I suggest the soft shell taco with pork or the braised beef but that’s as far as my recommendation goes. Thankfully, there are too many toppings and sauces to stuff into a single taco and the combination I come out with is a little different every time. See something that looks interesting? Stuff it in there, you can’t go wrong. Trust me, I’m a doctor. (I’m not a doctor.)

Excellent food — fresh ingredients. Attractive location, in terms of «fast food». Service has been excellent and prices are unbeatable. Have traveled home with it, and it survives the trip just fine! You have the option to have a burrito untoasted — so when you get home you can put it in the oven quickly. This is not ‘authentic’ Mexican — but they are the first to tell you that. However, if you want to choose from an array of fresh, exciting toppings and create a taco just to your individual taste, this is the place!

overpriced glorified subway. the dish I ordered, sorry I can’t remember the name, started out by pulling out permafrost frozen baggie of meat, yum right from the start. the staff carefully microwaved my «fresh» dish. once the meat was luke warm, they squeezed it out of the baggie on to a bed of rice. then much like Subway, you pick the veggies to go on top. I grabbed a bottle of water and paid over $ 17 for fresh microwaved food. I could have a sit down restaurant meal for that price. madness. I paid for the experience. I was disappointed. I should note, the food tasted ok, but all things considered, I’ll find a real restaurant next time or stop by the freezer section of Sobeys.

Decent food especially considering the price. Think edible taco bell and you’ll have the right idea when ordering here.

Incredibly good food, made to order. The tacos we got were all very tasty, with one hard shell of chicken, ground beef, and regular meat, respectively. I’d like to say I was able to slow down and dine on the mix of lime sour cream, fresh salsa, and boatload of other fresh fixin’s, but at only ~$ 2.75 per taco, I pretty much just inhaled them within seconds of sitting down. What a great feed. Delicious.

Mine was tasty(pulled pork burrito), his quesadilla was swimming in cilantro. This was my first time here and being lunch time I was overwhelmed. So much so I couldn’t afford time to make an order that I really wanted as the pressure to ‘move it along’ was weighing heavy. The noise level was so high I couldn’t hear my choices… argh. it’s to noisy to even write a proper review! We are wrapping it up to take in the car. oh my poor car!

I love this place so much! Probably a bit too much. I probably eat here twice a week it’s that good. I’ve tried all the different meats on the taco’s, chimichangas, nachos, burritos, quesadilla, etc. — I’m on a mission to try everything here! My favourite by far is the 3 taco combo, hard shell. I would strongly recommend the braised beef or the pulled pork — the taco beef & chicken aren’t anything spectacular imo. Get your cheese & veggies — and if you’re gonna go for sour cream — I strongly recommend the cilantro & lime sour cream. It’s just so friggin good. The staff is so nice every time I come and everything is cooked right in front of you. It’s hard to find better tacos in the city than this place — although I haven’t put a lot of effort into that, so take that as it is. Haha. Man all this taco talk makes me wanna go there right now!

I made it to the Woodside location within the first week of opening. This location I managed to try on the very first day, a soft opening. Though everything was great on that day, I thought I should go a second time to be fair. I like this location becasue it’s close to my work, lots more seating then the Woodside location and Cheese Curds shares the space. Having Cheese Curds and Habaneros together in one room is a bonus, since it is the only way I could convince B to darken the door of a Mexican type food resto. On this vist, we were a party of four, 3 of us ordering from the Habaneros side and B ordeing from Cheese Curds. Two of us ordered up the 3 taco combo, the third ordered a burrito. I mixed up the meats with one chicken, one spiced ground beef and one pork. Previously I had the same except had shredded beef instead of ground beef and I have to say I prefer the shredded. I had mine with the soft tortillas the other got the hard shells. We both were delighted with our choices. Lots of fresh toppings available, so you can pile on as little or as many as you like. You then get a choice of heat in salsa, I really like the hot green salsa and pair it up with the lime, cilantro sour cream. No matter how you build it, it’s going to be messy, but that’s half the fun. I do find they can be a little watery, leaving the last one a bit soggy by the time you get to it. I rectified this by putting a few napkins in the bottom of the basket to soak up excess and it worked great. The person who had the burrito was please with it, found it quite tasty but would have like it heated through more, I believe it was put on the grill on one side only. I got B to order a large poutine for us all to share, more on that in the Cheese Curds review. I can see having this so close to work being a danger but at least there are some healthy options available, whether I choose them, remains to be seen.

Love this new location! If you are like me and my boyfriend then one of you wants Habaneros and one wants Cheese Curds. Well, here that’s not a problem! They’re all together in one convenient location! I was really excited about this because now we no one has to compromise or we don’t have to get our food to go. We can both get what we want and still eat in together. Win Win! The food is awesome, just like the other location. I’m a big fan of the 3 tacos, but not so much the burritos which I save for Burrito Jax, just because I find them a step above there. But Habaneros has the advantage in the menu variety department.

Oh man. burritos and tacos are a thing of art! Habaneros makes them with the toppings you desire, and as spicy(or not) as you wish. I indulged in the chicken burrito with a lime sauce… and it was awesome. It’s not traditional mexican fare, but it certainly is Mexican derived. It’s a nice a change from typical burgers. Give it a shot!
