I didn’t learn this until a cash mob took me here earlier this month but Fisher’s is one of the longest running businesses on downtown Portland Street in Dartmouth. Mrs. Fisher herself still pops down to man the register as she has for decades of her 90-some years. That in itself makes this stationery shop one of a kind. The full selection runs beyond your average stationery but also dips into more unexpected finds like signed books about Dartmouth’s history, hardware supplies, and figurines of all kinds. You really have to look around the various shelves in there to get a good feel for what’s available. I’m not sure if you could do a full back-to-school run here, but I do know it would be a heck of a lot more interesting of a visit than your average Staples!

Fisher’s Stationery is a great place to pop into for some supplies. They are almost like a mom and pop shop, there was this sweet older lady working behind the counter eating a cookie. She asked if I need anything in particular, I said no, just wanted a look around. They have a little of everything here, all your supplies for an office, but also have craft supplies, cards, candles, and a small gift section towards the back. A great little spot.
