Worth the ferry ride from Halifax just to visit Caroline’s! The oatmeal raisin cookies and cinnamon rolls are amazing. Coffee is very good also. Prices are quite reasonable. Service could not be any friendlier.

Best bake shop I have been in in along time. Friendly service and great food. The corn chowder was excellent. The cheese and ham scone was great! Croissant with cheese — good. Had a muffin(on the house). Better than I could have guessed. Coffee was OK. No milk but just those little creamers. Clean and the smells were great!

I finally got around to Caroline’s, and I’m so glad I did! i went in looking to get a baguette, but got tempted by their cheesecake($ 2.95 a slice!), so opted for that instead. It was just before closing, so after a little chat with the very helpful and friendly man behind the counter, he gave me their last baguette for free. The cheesecake slice are the perfect size, and taste like cheesecake instead of sugar. Tart, creamy, and topped with lovely drizzled hard chocolate. The baguette was day-old(hence being free!), but was still fluffly and light, with a crisp crust. It took me straight back to small-town France, and I have a seriously craving for Nutella to finish the loaf. I will be back again and again! There are so many things I didn’t try yet, like their cookies, sandwiches and loaf breads.

This s the only bakery I know of yet that has reminded me so much of the bakeries back home in Cape Breton. The smell, the environment. It truly makes me smile. The products look delicious, and the service was great. The man was very informative on the products I bought. My only complaint would be the price of the packs of cookies. Other than that everything seemed lovely.

Popped into this conveniently located bakery when I was running a bit early this morning. A pleasant, tidy sort of place advertising muffins, scones, pastries & the like on their sandwich board. They have a small number of tables for those looking to linger. You can pick up breads & cookies packaged & ready to go, or single pastries from the case. Coffee is self service. Some eclairs & almond pastries were ready to go for $ 1.50 but I opted for pain au chocolate fresh from the oven & dusted with powdered sugar for just under $ 3 including tax. It was delicious with coffee and a very good example of this tasty treat. The service was very pleasant & I hope to come back for their lunch; I was told there are often ham & cheese croissants, just not today.
