The single worst customer service experience I have ever had at a retail store, and I have had my share of bad ones and worked in retail for years so I know what’s fair to expect and when a staff oversteps its bounds. I was embarrassed and treated with less than no respect, and I will never shop at a Toys’R’us again without first receiving a written apology and a full refund. Shaming an adult purchaser of a toy is a low blow, ignoring your own return policy to save a few bucks is lower and insulting and embarrassing a customer instead of acknowledging a mistake seals it. Terrible service, they ought to be ashamed.

Poor service. Initially we thought it wasn’t too bad. Yes the staff can be hard to track down but we did have decent customer service from one member. The till guy didn’t know what he was doing and the dude that went to get our mattress from the back brought the same wrong one out twice!!! We ordered a stroller, car seat and adaptor to be delivered to the store for pick up. We live 2.5 hours away and it was cheaper than 300 for delivery. The order was split into 2 shipments and we got called to tell us both were in the store. My wife went down and the staff were very unhelpful. Wouldn’t look for one of the shipments and told her that it wasn’t in. It was in the store and they’re stalling with regards to sending it to us and not returning my call. Their phone is always off the hook and the one advertised seems to be out of service. Argh! Go somewhere else if you can.

Toys R Us was always my favourite place to go as a kid. The atmosphere is bright and fun with lots of selection. I love this location and how the store is displayed. The Lego aisle is awesome and they even have some animé figurines! As far as customer service goes, I would give this location a 3 out of 5.

I have a love hate relationship with this Toys R Us. I used to go to this one a lot on my way home when I lived in Coquitlam as the 169 bus used to stop in front of here(from Braid). I preferred this location more than the Metrotown or Brentwood as it was less picked over. I also find this less busy since you actually have to come out here and not everyone is happy about taking transit here. I find that they don’t stock up on new releases in a timely manner(especially in the action figure department). I am not sure if it’s ’cause of the turn around of sales or they just don’t care. I found this to be a big problem with McFarlene action figures and when the first Transformers movie came out. They were good about stocking recent editions of Care Bears, however, annoyed that a lot of the boxes were dented. I am a collector of Care Bears and was very annoyed with the dented boxes of the limited edition Swarovski bears. My sister loves Barbies and collects some special and holiday editions. I used to get them here since they were exclusive, however, in the past 3 years I’ve had a hard time finding any cool exclusive Barbie’s, Let alone a holiday Barbie in box that hasn’t been dropped on the floor 20 times by some toddler. I will give them credit for stocking the Joan Jett, Debby Harry and Cyndi Lauper Barbie(that I kept for myself). I like the Puzzle section. When I visit my sister I pick up a jigsaw puzzle from here. I like puzzles with bunnies and candy(not in the same puzzle but that would be awesome if I found one like this). The prices are hit and miss. They don’t have sales as much as they should, especially since I can get something cheaper across the boarder. They need to focus more on customer incentives to get the dollars spent here. I am surprised that this location is still standing considering that there isn’t a lot of foot traffic. The customer service is hit and miss, mostly good. I’ve killed time post rush hour for the 169 by playing games with some of the staff(bought the item first). I find that compared to the mall locations the staff here are around my age when they remember the first release/versions of Ninja Turtles(I still have mine). Makes for good conversation. This location is awesome ’cause you can buy bundles of Monopoly money(I kept losing my bills). I used to play Monopoly with my dad and the money would run out before all the hotels were built… that’s how I rolled. I was a real estate high roller but I didn’t have the extra bills for the ride. The cost for a bundle was $ 6.49(no joke). I used to stuff my pockets with 2’s and 5’s that got washed in the laundry when I was younger. It’s cheaper to buy bills than a whole new board game. I also find that trying to obtain an original Monopoly board game very rare these days. Not that there’s anything wrong with those specialty boards. What is the point of the Walking Dead monopoly when zombies are too stupid to buy property let alone understand when you have to tell them to pay rent? Going to jail… isn’t that a good thing according to the show?

If i can give this store 0 stars I would. I tried to get a price match for a product I bought a day ago and was told something i could not believe. They said without an advertisement on paper, they would not do a price match. So i said, even though it’s advertised on their website as well as advertised in store, it isn’t considered valid? She said«You should go to futureshop and buy it there and then return the one you bought here.» I’ve never had such difficulties with a price match before. I will not be returning to spend my money here and the reviews on google were definitely right.
