So last night, I had a pretty scarring experience here. Was having dinner with my mom, chatted for a couple of hours. We were the only customers there, besides a male customer that came in a bit later on. We were sitting in the booth seats, and he was sitting at the bar seats across, facing us. I don’t look at people because I don’t want to seem rude, so it didn’t really click with me that he had already eaten his meal and was still there. I was still talking with my mom, and around 8PM she looked over and realized he was masturbating. Yes, MASTURBATING, and looking straight at us. We ran to the counter and told the staff. The reaction was quite slow, manager didn’t speak to us, and went out to speak with him. We were so disturbed and just wanted to get out of there. I got home and called the branch, and apparently they have a video, banned him, but didn’t get ID. For any of you going to this branch, BEAWARE and BECAREFUL.

Went to drive thru at 4am. One lane blocked off with milk crates. Asked for reg items but told they were on breakfast menu already?!? This despite huge banner in their drive thru advertising it starting at 5am.

Looks big from the highway, but it’s not; at least the parking lot it is, so lots of room. Drive thru service avail but resto closes 11pm. Guess being in this tough location between #1 and Lougheed, it’s kinda hard to get through. Either Schoolhouse or think it was Brunette I took, but somehow I made it here. A decent size nonetheless, the bar seating on the left, and bigger sitdown area on the right. Seems to have done renos but it’s not the high end version.

I found it! The only McDonald’s in Canada that does NOT have a McCafe which I assume is because they get no business and can’t afford the equipment and related renovations. The construction and how it changed how you access or even see this McDonald’s from Lougheed Highway has pretty much doomed it. If you don’t already know it’s there it is highly unlikely you’ll see it while driving by. I feel kind of sorry for this franchise owner as his business was basically destroyed by the traffic changes.

There’s something weird about this McDonald’s. Maybe it’s the location which isn’t helped by the recent construction in the area, but nothing ever seems to taste quite right. I don’t think that I’d say that the food tastes old or stale but. just ‘off’. I’ve been to this one a few times over the years and it’s always been the same.

So why write a review about McDonald’s? Well let me start off by saying this is not about what the franchise has to offer. We all know what we are getting in to when we hit the drive through. You can’t tell me that after a night of drinking a 3am cheeseburger isn’t the best thing on earth. I’m also not going to talk about my potential conflict of interest having being employed by a McDonald’s when I was 13. Ahh the days of a pimple faced Garth working a broom admiring the cool 16 year olds drive there with their new drivers licence. As soon as I get promoted to fry guy I knew would garner the respect from others. Sorry I digressed. This is about this specific McDonald’s In several occasions I’ve come to the drive through with a huge case of Mac Attack and had to either: A: Wait forever at the empty order window for no one to show, only to just move ahead to be told at the food window«you can’t order here» to which I respond«then I won’t» B: Find out later, despite paying for it, end up missing a key item such as french fries. Perhaps they are trying to save my life? C: Pay more than I should. Prices here are actually higher than say McDonald’s on Austin. Do yourself a favour, if McDonald’s is your calling head on up to Austin.
