I love this little cute shop. Great thing about this place you can order allergy free cupcakes. My friends have food allergies to egg and gluten and it’s very hard to find a bakery that would accommodate this. We ordered couple times and both times we really enjoyed it. This bakery also uses less sugar and cream cheese for their icing which makes you feel it’s actually not that bad for you. Highly recommend to order from them or just grab a few when you visit Kin’s market next door.

I’m a sucker for cupcakes, so I was excited to find a cupcake place in Coquitlam. Clever Cupcakes focuses on making 100% natural, preservative free cupcakes in their nut free facility. They also make a limited number of gluten free cupcakes, and can accommodate vegan, egg-free, or dairy-free cupcakes with 24 hours notice. This is quite rare for a cupcake place! The store front itself is small(nestled in beside Kin’s Farm Market) but the store is very bright and clean. They offer a large variety of mini($ 1.40 each) and regular cupcakes($ 3.15 each) in a variety of flavours. They also make«big» cupcakes for $ 7. If you order multiple cupcakes, the boxes they supply are the best I’ve seen for cupcake transport, and $ 31 for 12 cupcakes isn’t completely out to lunch. I purchased a regular chocolate cupcake with strawberry icing. The cupcake portion itself was fantastic! It had a great chocolate flavour and wasn’t too rich. The icing however was just mediocre. It was definitely«healthier» than icing at other cupcake places, but it didn’t have that strong strawberry flavour I was looking for. Overall, Clever Cupcakes is a great find in the Coquitlam area if you want to satisfy your sweet tooth without the guilt. However, I wish their icing was a bit better(even though the cupcake makes up for it)! 3.5 stars.

Most delicious cupcakes I’ve ever had from a cupcake store! This place is a bit hard to see from the street, as it’s tucked beside Kin’s Farm Market, but I’m so happy that I found it! Very friendly staff and a super cute store.

Very cute place, very friendly people and absolutely amazing cupcakes. I am not a cupcake person myself but I tried some with my daughter and wow, it’s so good!

My sister took me to this cupcake place which is amazing. What makes it amazing, other than using 50% less sugar than the other cupcakes, is that the flavor is actually in the batter unlike other cupcakes(whose name I will not mention) who just have the flavoring on the icing. No preservatives and or trans fat. It’s a sometimes treat, however, a treat that you can feel good about. The cupcakes are better priced than the boxed chain store(you know who you are your reality TV show wh0res). I love lemon and lime, that is it. I have a very specific taste pallet. There was 1 mini lime cupcake and the b*tch in front of me took it on purpose for her«random assortment» of cupcakes for what I suspect was a party. She only bought that cupcake ’cause my sister and I were talking about it. She also was grumpy(the lady who bought the lime mini and had a permanent b*tch face). I hope that she has a nightmare tonight of a giant lime squeezing her. At least I have something to look forward to next time… a lime mini. The guy at the til was super friendly.

I’m a fan! This past weekend was my first time ordering cupcakes from this place and I don’t regret it at all! I ordered customized batman cupcakes for my good friend’s birthday! Juan(the owner) was very helpful, friendly, and professional!!! He was prompt in his email replies, ensured he answered all my questions, and delivered results that exceeded my expectations. I was very pleased with the delicous, moist taste and overall presentation. I will definitely order more cupcakes from them. The cupcakes are a bit pricey but well worth it.

Who ever thought that a cupcake made healthy would taste that great? When I think of half the sugar and no preservatives I think of the glutten free bread(yuck). These cupcakes are damn good. I absolutely love the chocolate, and the red velvet with the cream cheese icing. Every time I go to Coquitlam centre I pop in and see what the flavor of the day is. Apparently you can do kids bday parties there as well as have them do custom orders for special events. I just may take them up on that opportunity. No harm in enjoying and not feeling guilty right after.

I come and buy the cupcakes in dozens to satisfy my sweet tooth from time to time. My favorite is the kind with cream cheese icing. The texture of the cake itself is perfect, soft but never too moist/oily. It’s made with natural ingredients too, which eases my guilt when I give into sweet cravings. There is seating area in the store to relax with a coffee and a cupcake. The facility is extremely clean as well. The cupcake is slightly pricy however, but it compensates for ingredients and yumminess.

Ah, the elusive fifth star. Clever Cupcakes, you’ve earned yours from me today. I’ve shown my face here a handful of times since my first visit and review. Every flavor I’ve tried has been delicious, but alas, I still hadn’t gotten my paws on the banana cream cheese cupcake that I so desperately wanted! Every time I go in, «Banana cream cheese today?» No. No, no, no, no, no, not today! They only pop out on Thursdays and Saturdays, two days which I am ALWAYS working. Today being a typical working Saturday, I decided to take a stroll over to my(now) favorite cupcakery after my shift in the hopes that there would be some banana goodness left for me. It must’ve been a busy day, because there were literally two cupcakes left, neither of which were the one I wanted. Apparently, I’m a difficult face to forget, because no sooner did I gaze upon the empty cupcake display with sorrow, the man working told me that he had a hunch that I would show up today, and that he set aside a banana cream cheese cupcake for me! It’s service like this that keeps me coming back. I would recommend this place to anybody. Oh, and the cupcake? Everything I dreamed of and more. Thanks, CC, for making my crappy day at work just a little bit sweeter!

On a typically rainy day on the wet coast, I decided to venture out with my son to Coquitlam. Why Coquitlam you ask? Well, I was in search of cupcakes. I had heard that a fairly new cupcakery happened to carry a gluten free version. And you know I will travel just about anywhere for cupcakes. The bakery also uses all natural ingredients. Say no more, where do I sign up? Their bake shop was clean and had a small seating area with nice décor. I ordered 2 vanilla cupcakes for myself and my son. The cupcake itself was tasty, and not too sweet, although a bit heavier than some I have had in the past. The frosting was a nice departure from the sickly sweet icing that you typically find on a cupcake. It was more like a custard, and was delicious! They have vanilla and chocolate gluten free cupcakes. Its a great idea for birthday parties, so your child doesn’t feel left out, or for treating yourself. It is not a dedicated gluten free facility, but the owner assured me that they do their best to prevent cross-contamination, and use separate pans. Try them out! Close to Coquitlam Centre.
