A bit dated and if you have a pet, you get one of the«highly perfumed» pet rooms. I suppose perhaps some pets stink but whatever that cleaning product is that hotels use, that has to be highly toxic to anything that breathes. Fan on and door open(in winter) for 20 min and its still all you can smell and taste. No, I didn’t ask for another room — it has been an incredibly long day so maybe there are less odorous rooms(i doubt it but…). And, if you have kids, you might be excited that there’s an indoor pool. If you don’t have kids, have had a ling day and an early start, you may be less happy about the yelling children enjoying the pool. Just ask for a different room away from the pool. Overall, its mostly clean(minus lipstick on wine glass) and nothing can survive the carpet cleaner… But its not a fabulous value for the barely average accommodations.

Friendly check in, very helpful and quick. Room layout was perfect, nice full kitchen and two bedrooms. Unfortunately the entire hotel smells like mildew, musty and overpowering. I get the main hotel with the indoor pool and jungle thing they have going on but I’m in the separate motel portion and it’s every room not just mine. The carpet looks fairly clean so I’m not sure why it’s so bad! Still it’s a huge step up from the other best western down the road.

At check in I was greeted by Ryan who then said«enjoy your room, it’s a very nice room». Since I have stayed at numerous BW I thought to myself«yeah… how nice could it be» and to my surprise was I wrong. I can’t say it’s typical BW but more like a room from Caesar’s Palace with jacuzzi in one corner, mirrors surrounding the room and 4 pillars at each corner of the bed. There’s even curtains to slide on each side of the bed. If you are into this sort of elegance then it’s the room for you. I find it a bit strange to see myself laying in bed. Aside from that the hotel is nicely located to many restaurants and a very short drive to where I have to be during my business trip.

A recent two-night stay at the Coquitlam Inn was part of a within-the-neighbourhood mini-trip for us. We had a very comfortable and well-appointed room, enjoyed the hotel’s amenities, and found all the staff friendly and accommodating. And what a great location — so perfect for getting out — on foot — to shopping, browsing, and varied dining options(in the immediate vicinity, especially the Korean and other Asian cuisines). We stayed in one of the ‘themed’ rooms, located on the second(the top) floor, right at the back of the hotel’s courtyard area. The room because of the amenities — king bed, jacuzzi tub, large bureau & entertainment centre(w/small fridge), and desk — actually looked and felt a touch small, but it worked well for the two of us, and we sure enjoyed the offerings it included. The balcony had a great, unobstructed view of the courtyard below — with it’s swimming pool, hot tub, and beautiful ‘tropical’ gardens, which line the walks around the courtyard, and most other areas(before the courtyard, behind the lobby, and etc.). Our stay was during-the-week. We found the courtyard area during the morning and afternoon hours to be mostly quiet, peaceful, and very restful. In the evenings, when more families w/children arrived at the hotel, the area did become quite a touch more active, with the kids and others enjoying their times in the pool and tub(with what kids like to do — scream, shout, and all!!). The courtyard was open for use from 9am to 9pm, so there was little in the way of any ‘noise’ after 9pm. We walked and browsed the stores at the two most-local ‘malls’, dined at several restaurants, and much-enjoyed our time and stay at the Coquitlam Inn, and look forward to doing another mini-trip to the area and stay again soon. For a couple of «old-timers», it was a nice break from the usual routine at home — heh, I didn’t have to shop and cook, and we had no reason to watch tv either!

great location here esp if you plan to shop at 2 korean supermarkets within walking distance. Quite the oasis when you enter in, it’s an older one w/the lots of greenery, the old-style look, with gold-chrome railings throughout. Modern, no way. Location-wise, it’s a short drive to Lougheed Mall but nothing upscale here. for the tourist, you’re in good hands w/plenty of korean and japanese restaurants around. Much bigger hotel than another BW near the highway.
