The salad rolls were delicious. The three noodle dishes, we ordered, were bland. Absolutely no flavour on my chicken noodle bowl. The tofu vegetarian dish was bland. If I went back I would try the soups. Other patrons seemed to be enjoying them. I think we were there on an off day as the chef was visibly upset about something and arguing with the staff. Too bad our food reflected that. Disappointing.

This is our favourite Vietnamese restaurant and we frequently drive from Calgary to eat here. The food is always fantastic — some of our favourites are lemongrass vermicelli rice bowls, spicy curry soups(the yellow ones), lemon grass sate beef, hot & sour soup, vegetable spring rolls, vegetable fried rice, spring rolls. The staff are very friendly. They get very busy so sometimes you have to ask for a water refill because they don’t see you need one. The interior is clean but a bit dingy. Alright for us — we take three kids there!

Average(at best) Vietnamese food. I ordered the sate need noodle soup and spring rolls both of which I would put at the middle of the road at best. The sate soup is of the clear broth variety and appears to be regular chicken broth based that is «sate’d up» using some dried spice spinkled on top. The restaurant itself is below middle of the road. Service? Well there really isn’t any other than they bring out the food. Great if you want an uninterrupted peaceful meal, less great if you want some service. The only interaction with the server was to place the order and pay the bill… No kidding. Not even a thank-you… Strange I thought. While having a late lunch the gentleman looking after the front of house watched a video on an ipad while unpacking some rice paper wrappers in the middle if the restaurant. A table left and dishes remained uncleared only the tip was picked up. Strange I thought. While not totally disappointed with the food, I will not return. There are many better options out there.

Friendly and accommodating staff almost makes up for the blah food, but not quite. First off, the noodle bowls. The Vietnamese noodles had the right texture and taste. Other than that, everything else making up the bowl was bland. In the house special beef bowl, I could hardly taste any beefiness in the soup. The tripe was nice but the beef was overdone. Instead of that pinkish thin slice of beef, what sat in my bowl were pieces that were cooked through. The beef ball were decent though. The other bowl we ordered had strips of chicken and seafood but the stock was again overly light. If I hadn’t paid attention I would have mistaken one stock for the other. Accompanying the soup bowls was a messy plate of bean sprouts. Missing were the slices of lime, serrano chillies and basil. The rice plate fell flat as well, with dried strips of chicken and pork, shredded lettuce and plain rice. The fried spring rolls were tough and dry. The staff was pretty friendly and efficient so that’s a plus. In summary, if you ever find yourself on the TC-1 hankering for Asian cuisine, think twice about taking the 11 km. detour to downtown Cochrane for the Vietnamese food here.

Good for lunch. There are two places I know yet in Cochrane where you can eat Vietnamese and they are addressing different customers with a similar menu. This place is small, simple and good — ideal for a quick lunch or take-out. When it is about taking out a customer or a date I would prefer the other restaurant, as it is much nicer in the inside. 5 stars for food and value minus one star for the atmosphere = 4 stars

Love myself some Vietnamese. First time trying this place in Cochrane and I’m a fan. The spring rolls were decent, as were the shrimp rolls. Value was decent as my vermicelli combo plate was huge and very tasty. Pricing was good as well. You can tell this place is a favorite for the local folk as there was a constant flow of people. I woud definitely recommend to anyone in Cochrane or just passing through.
