History
Established in 2008.
Big Ricky’s humbly began, with a Mom and her 3 boys at home. As the boys approved, each recipe was tweaked and saved. Deb continued on to sell her baking in her front yard on Saturdays, at the drivers room to the School bus drivers, in the lunch room at her work place.
After losing her 18 yr old son Richard to heart disease she dreamt of a special place to one day showcase her baking and Ricky’s art. He had developed a cartoon character that he liked to call Big Ricky. Deb wanted excerpts of his creations on the walls of her future spot.
2005 Debbie got the opportunity to bake for the Gourmet Cup Café in the downtown Chatham Mall.
2008 Big Ricky’s little bake shoppe became at reality! Of course, as she envisioned, her yummy made from scratch baking AND Ricky’s art are there!
Thanks to the irreplaceable support of God, family, friends, and patrons, Deb’s dream is happening!
Meet the Business Owner
Deborah C.
Business Owner
I am excited to have this opportunity! I love to make things from scratch and it’s always so nice when something I have made puts a smile on someone’s face, and makes their tastebuds happy!
I can’t remember a time in my family when someone didn’t have a baking talent to share, something new to try, so my interest is baking comes naturally I think :)
I understand that it’s hard sometimes to learn a new thing on a limited budget, but persistance and strong support can really make a difference! I hope you enjoy our little place here as much as we do, and as my skillset slowly grows I hope you will challenge yourself to learn a new thing too! Slow and steady :)
Drop me a note, or pop into the shoppe, check out old favourites or the «new thing» and share what you’ve been up to. We would love to hear!
