Looking for a great little spot in Carleton place or somewhere to drive to on a nice day for lunch? This is it!
The Thirsty Moose is a «Moost» wonderful spot — the food was outstanding as was the service. The waitress was quick and efficient and gasp, acknowledged my kids +1 stars.
The kids had nachos that they ate until they were full, +1 — if the kids eat it, it must be good. I had the fish with sweet potato fries and the fish was incredible — a light batter not a heavy beer batter — was a large piece of fish but was so light I could have eaten two pieces +1 star. My other half had the chicken club with fries and gravy and he would have eaten the gravy left if I had let him — fresh cut fries and real chicken — he was in heaven and wants to go back this Sunday +1 star!
It wasn’t much to look at — typical pub setting, but I can look past that anytime. It was clean and that is what is important. We will be back, way to go Carleton Place!

Well, I’ve been a few times more now to the Moose and I am becoming more of a fan. Tuesday night is two-​for-​one fajita night and this dish is well worth it. Fresh ingredients, hot off the grill-​pan, lots of accompaniments, and washed down with a beer or two. I think these are as good as the Lone Star’s fajita’s. Service is always friendly and fast and this is a nice little spot to meet friends or watch a game.

Thursday night is wing night at the Moose… great wings and great prices in a great atmosphere… worth the drive from Ottawa.
