I have only been here 3 times and already extremely impressed. The dish I usually always go for is the Montréal Stack Sandwich. There are slices of Montréal smoked beef and it is served with blackberry ketchup, which brings a nice sweet flavour to the salty meat. During brunch, I ordered the Classic Eggs Benny. VERY light and not too heavy on the hollandaise sauce(common mistake with many egg benedicts) the eggs are nicely poached and you have a choice of the yolk being soft, medium, or hard. I chose medium, the outside of the yolk is just set and the inside is nice and runny. A soup that I LOVE is the Corn and Potato chowder. It brings a very unique flavour and its served with cheese, sour cream, and tortilla chips as a garnish. Very nice and thick chowder. But be aware, the chowder is heavy, so don’t order such a big entrée after you eat the soup. A drink I got recommended was the Miami Ice. Non-alcoholic. A mango ice tea with mint and lemon. Very refreshing, has a stem of mint in the drink, brings out the flavour. Mango Chilli Shrimp was amazing! It’s almost like candied shrimp atop of some Asian coleslaw. Very nice and flavourful. BTW: the fries and potatoes are like heaven so be sure to order those! The only thing that is holding me back on 5 stars is the service quality. Sometimes they are nice, but not very organized. Reserved a table the third time for 7 people, had to wait 15 minutes because they were not ready for our arrival, and we were on time. Very nice restaurant and very good quality food.

DH& I came here on Thanksgiving Day shortly before 4 pm. DH had their promo $ 25 for a 3 course meal: 3 beef sliders(really tender), Portobello mushrooms with chicken & a ganache torte with marshmallow ice cream… so yummy ! I had the Butternut Squash Ravioli which was really good but by the end, I felt the squash was a bit too sweet & the crushed cherry tomatoes a bit too acidic & the spicy pecans were out of place in this dish. Maybe they could combine the 2 to make a new flavour combination. I also used my 30X the Scene points coupon & received 420 pts. YAY! They have mostly booth seating with one horseshoe-shaped booth in the back.

Started off with slow service, but the food was so good, I have to give it 5 stars. Tilapia cooked perfectly. Bruschetta was superb. Server was so kind and tried very hard to accommodate us even during the busy evening. Good for kids, too!

Our group of five came here on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant wasn’t that busy and there were plenty of spaces free. We told the servers we would like to sit outside in the patio. The patio wasn’t crowded either, but it took about ten minutes to seat us, which was a slow service. I ordered the grilled chicken & balsamic bacon burger, it was delicious. The only negative aspect was that the service was very slow again and it took forever for the server to refill our drinks, even though it was a hot day and we were sitting outside. The patio space was very nicely decorated and classy.

We came here for dinner after shopping at park royal because I had a coupon for free appetizer with entrée mailed to me for their 25th anniversary. I used to go to milestones a lot because I love their spinach dip, and I still do– in fact I haven’t had a spinach dip anywhere else that tastes better, but that of course is my opinion. We ordered the hot spinach and artichoke dip(obviously) and we decided to get another appetizer, the calamari on top of our entrée, for which I chose the pesto chicken penne asiago. Excuse some of my pictures, I was too hungry and started eating before I realized I hadn’t snapped a shot, which is why the appetizers have a bite missing. Oops! The spinach and artichoke dip($ 12.75) was pretty good, although definitely not as good as usual, but maybe the park royal branch just doesn’t have a good of a kitchen staff as the one I go to(Robson). There were big chunks of cheese that were clumpy and stuck together. That’s never the way I’ve had it before as it’s usually melted all nicely together and is harmonious with the spinach. It wasn’t very hot when they brought it to us so I’m assuming they left it sitting for a while and the cheese cooled and clumped up. But nevertheless, the taste was good– not superb, but good. The calamari was the BIGGEST disappointment for $ 12.50. I was expecting big thick calamari strips since I remember them being nice and juicy and the they didn’t use to not include the tentacles. When the plate arrived I saw a cone of newspaper print, so I dumped out the contents and I was in shock for a good few seconds. Firstly, the calamari rings were TINY, and it was wayyyy too overfried. It was no longer tender and the batter was almost rock hard. Secondly, the portion size… It’s probably a third the amount of all other establishments. It was such a joke! Literally a small handful of calamari, definitely not even up to par for an appetizer size. This was nothing like I remembered from my previous experiences, granted its probably been 4 years since I last ordered the calamari here, but come on. It felt like such a waste of money and we were so disappointed and wished we had ordered the chicken wings as contemplated. Oh well, lesson learned. It didn’t taste terrible, I’ll give them that, but it was barely average. Our entrée was the saving grace. The penne was decently priced at $ 17.75 and it’s always been my favourite entrée at milestones. We mentioned we were sharing the entrée and they brought our pasta portioned in two with a piece of garlic toast each, which was nice. The pasta was cooked perfectly to my liking and the sauce was nice and creamy. My god I can’t explain how good the Asiago cream sauce is, it’s heavenly. The chicken was sliced very thinly and tasted great, and there were lots of it, even though I only had half of it. They definitely don’t skimp on the chicken. The sun dried tomatoes also added a nice flavour. The garlic toast was nice and thick and was perfectly for soaking up the sauce. If anything, this dish saved the experience from being a disappointment to acceptable. Overall, I’ve always had a good experience at milestones and I’m always willing to give places one strike. Perhaps it was the location and the staff, but I won’t write it off until I have an equally bad experience at my regular location.

Had lunch here this week and it certainly was not super busy. We ordered 2 ice teas, a seafood salad and a chicken ceased salad. After 30 – 45 minutes we asked what the update was on our salads since the table just beside us(who arrived at least 10 minutes after we did) were served their lunch. Three different servers came over to say«nobody told you about your salad?» Finally the Manager came over said there have been a problem and our salads will be ready in three minutes… about 5 minutes later the salads did arrive(we assumed originally nobody put the order in). The salads were very good, and the manager actually took up the tab — very nice of her she didn’t have to do that. We will certainly return !

Better food than other Milestones. My poached egg was perfectly cooked… runny and yummy. Kids’ meals were also cooked nicely. Prime rib hash was seasoned well. My bellini gave me an excellent brain freeze on a hot summer’s day and it was on sale too. Evan was serving us and he was training someone so she was shadowing him. His service was excellent and spot on.

Very disappointing! Do not order the Burger with the gluten free bun, falls apart in your hand, soggy greasy fries. Overall the experience was as bad as their ripped up seat cushions.

Great food but a bit of a slow service. We visited for brunch on Sunday morning. I had the chip salad. Really tasty. The only complaint was way too many corn kernels. The steak and hash and the kids meals looked amazing They get 5 stars for the coffee. Amazing taste and aroma. Waitress said she would find out the brand but never got back to me :(

I’ve been going here for years, back when there used to be smoking sections in restaurants. It’s nothing fancy, simple family restaurant with uncomplicated food. It’s a huge place, lots of booths and who doesn’t love a booth! Service is always friendly, wait isn’t usually too long. If you are looking for a place to write home about, this really isn’t it. But if you are looking for an easy place to have a casual meal, this hits the mark. They used to make a grilled chicken ciabatta sandwich for lunch and I would order it every time. They may still do it if you ask.

This place is hit and miss for me. When they make steaks and curly fries, it was great. Tonight, I requested a burger, with no cheese, to save money and some curly fries. They gave me regular fries that were very salty instead and the burger had hints of cheese. The burger was terrible and the fries were okay. I wasn’t really in the mood to complain though.

Service: Waiter wasn’t equipped with adequate knowledge of the menu. Took nearly 20 Minutes for the beverages to arrive and 45 minutes for the food to be served. It took extremely long to receive the bill; especially when the waiter has to correct the bill 3 X’s. Food: Requested Nutritional Menu which was extremely dirty, sticky, and dusty. Of course, my requested dish was incorrect. How the HECK can you mess up a Veggie Burger? I requested no bacon on my Caesar salad, which obviously was garnished with loads of bacon bits! Atmosphere: Definitely not a peaceful atmosphere(loud music, dishes banging, and employees laughing really loud). Not enough space between tables. DIRTYFLOORS

Used to be a regular here and really enjoyed it. Went tonight for the first time in a year and was really disappointed. The staff was great — friendly hostess, decently fast table service, but the new menu was really a let down. Prices have gone up and the quality has not. The menu seems to have gone ‘hipster’ with a nod to locally sourced and hand made items, but they don’t seem to be good quality. The fries were ok. Salad was ok. Burger was ok. But ok is not what I expect for a higher price point than White Spot or Red Robin. Quite disappointing from an old favourite.

It’s been a while since I’ve been to any Milestones. Went there for lunch yesterday. It was revolting, with ‘grease’ being the new favourite here. General Rule of Thumb: If you make a dish well, leave it alone. Milestones used to have terrific Eggs Benedict. In fact, that’s why we chose Milestones in the first place. We found, though, that the chain has replaced the English Muffin with something called ‘Cheese Biscuits’, aka American-style biscuits. Well they are doughy, stodgy, unpleasant-tasting and greasy – and they completely ruin the dish. My friend ended up ordering the smoked meat sandwich, which was basically an inch of odd-tasting meat and a slice of Cheddar served between two pieces of fried bread. Smoked meat is supposed to be served with Swiss cheese, or provolone. Orange Cheddar is not appropriate and, in this case, it’s tasteless. I don’t know what the seasoning was on the meat, but it tasted odd. And the bread was absolutely soaked with grease. In a final effort to make its meals interesting, the food came with skewers of olives and, of all things, peeled raw garlic cloves. And some kind of fruit ketchup. And cherry tomatoes long past their best. Milestones should know better.

Thank you Unilocal, for your application working in Canada(not that it wouldn’t) and helping us locate a place for a relaxing dinner! Even with a site such as this one, I feel it can be difficult to find a place you’ll truly enjoy when visiting outside the states… you don’t want to end up eating overpriced crap or potentially end up somewhere the locals rave about only to find it closed! On a recent trip to Vancouver, we stopped at Milestones on the way back from a rainy, muddy hike. Walking in, we assumed we’d be way under-dressed(based on the appearance of the staff) but we were welcomed nonetheless and soon saw other diners were dressed similarly casual. There were a ton of places we could have sampled on the way back, and yes this was in a strip mall/shopping section rather than along a village street, but overall we were impressed. Great & quick service, an extensive menu selection of moderate to mid-range priced meals($ 10 – 30), good drinks, and a stellar appetizer(unique bruschetta, though it was a bit on the sweet side). Even better: no split plate charge(either that or they forgot) as we split the seafood fettucini! I enjoyed the local beer on tap, Granville Island Brewery’s Honey Lager… light and refreshing. Again, great service and price for what we got. Upon returning to Vancouver, I’d hope for better weather to try some of the other places downtown, but for North Vancouver, Milestones was a hit!

This has quickly become one of my favorite places to go out. They have by far the best caesar salad I have ever had. I used to go to the Keg for steaks but I find them to be so much better here, which is strange as there owned by the same company. The atmosphere is nice and I have always found the service to be top notch. It is on the pricy side so I cannot go as often as I would like.

North Shore’s Milestone location with a gorgeous open patio located in the Village at Park Royal and bundle-packed with the other trendy chain restaurants, Cactus and Taphouse — great for groups and all ages. Mimosas, caesars and coffees in hand, our 16 friends enjoyed a Sunday brunch on the patio in celebration of our g/f’s birthday today! It was delightful. We all seemed to have an enjoyable brunch while taking in some afternoon sunshine. As always, the dishes were well-presented and consistent. I had the California Spring Salad, again for the millionth time.

Came here this week for their ‘Free’ Date Night event. You can order an optional appetizer and an entrée and your date gets theirs for free. Plus it’s $ 5 off bottles of wine which makes it a very reasonable night out! When we arrived, there was a 25 minute wait for the main dining area but we were able to be seated in the lounge right away. And at 6pm! Win! We had the bottle of gewurztraminer for a whopping $ 23! Amazing! It had a heavier mouth feel than usual but was delicious and went well with our meals! To start, we had the spinach and artichoke dip and the thai chicken bites. Both were served quickly and were nice and hot. The dip is a guilty pleasure of mine and has lots of spinach and cheese. The chicken had a nice spice to it and I liked the addition of cucumbers to help cool your mouth. Our entrees arrived shortly after finishing our appetizers. I had the portobello mushroom chicken(again) and my friend had the grilled mediterranean chicken. Both were huge portions(2 chicken breasts each) and smelled amazing. My chicken had tons of fresh mushrooms and roasted garlic and just enough sauce to enjoy with the chicken but also mix in to the pasta. It was served with a few spears of asparagus and some grape tomatoes, which were nice to cut the richness of the dish. The mediterranean chicken came with a large portion of goat cheese and there was lots of fresh bok choy and grape tomatoes, mixed in with chickpeas. We were far too stuffed to eat any more and I was happy that my entrée was more than enough for lunch the next day. It was also equally as delicious then! Definitely keep an eye out for this special as it’s an amazing deal but apparently only happens twice a year. Keep in mind that they don’t offer reservations on this night, as to avoid people not showing up for their reservation and tables being delayed for diners. Dinner for each of us was only $ 29. They also offer their regular Date Night every Wednesday, which is still a good deal.

We come here a lot, maybe not as much as our dinner dates, but we like it here. So our birthdays are getting longer and longer… it’s now birthweek. This friday night was not date night, sigh. It was the first of many birthday dinners for my husband to be. We get here at 8pm and our friends already got a table. Yippee! I order a coke and a water, and I accept the fact that it’s pepsi. I also get a burger… I always get the burger… I love the four cheese burger. I get it with half fries, half salad. Mmmm, four cheese… I know one of them is goat cheese… and it comes with a big dollop of roasted garlic. Make sure your date takes a bite or you’re getting dropped off early. Now on to bigger and better things… dessert. Our table mates are experts at this… so I just said ditto when the server asked what I wanted. Out comes a slice of white chocolate cheesecake with a tiny pitcher of caramel sauce. Oh, I just heard a button pop. Wow. I dip each bite in caramel. I scrape and dip… I am delighted with my friend’s choice in dessert.
