I purchased a used 1950s O-gauge electric train and some used track to put around my Christmas tree 2 years ago for nostalgic purposes. It has now become a bit of a hobby to collect vintage train set stuff. I now clean and refurbish old electric train engines for display or use. I go in every couple months to check out the used pieces for sale, and see what new sets are coming out. They mostly have new train sets, but a high-end Lionel electric train with several cars is something I will work my way up to budget-wise. For kids and people with less space, they have a huge selection of smaller train sets — N gauge I think — which are much more affordable than O gauge.
