The Styling Company

I have super thin hair and been to many a stylist to have hilites and cuts. I get great cuts and colors here and prices are totally reasonable. Sometimes I go funky, sometimes low key, I always leave happy because the stylist actually listens to what you want and tells you if it’s not realistic. And great magazines when you are parked under the dryers, yay!

I love this salon! They are able to get you in within a few days and always make you feel at home. My hair is very thick and most stylists are scared of my hair. Fallon wasn’t! She dove right in there and gave me an awesome cut. I also had awful black hair dye and she was able to fix it and give me some beautiful highlights. All while sipping a cup of tea, my experience was great! Not a bad price, too.

Sadly I have to edit what I said about this salon.
I originally liked my cut but since it’s been growing out and settling down I’ve come to realize that it’s one of the worst cuts I’ve received here in Calgary! It’s very choppy on the side and back, looks like something I could have done myself. I actually had someone ask me if I cut my own hair! Not good!
There are much better places to get a quality cut done for the same price that I paid here, they may not be as easy to get to but well worth it at the end of the day.

What a great surprise!
I’ve been looking for a new stylist since mine moved out of town, I happened to read the good review on this site and thought I’d give them a chance. I’m happy I did!
The stylist was great, she took her time to talk to me about my hair and what I wanted done, we made a few changes as we went along as per my requests, and I was thrilled with the end result! I like that the salon feels laid back and is super busy! I could tell that the stylists here have loyal customers from the chatter going on, to me that’s a great sign!

I am the type of gal who is usually never satisfied with any stylist; I’ve tried everything from the most upscale salons in the city to the hair colleges. I decided to try The Styling Company one day simply because it’s close to home and I didn’t have anybody I went to see regularly. That was 15 months ago and it’s still going strong!
Let me just say, I love my stylist! She is the type who does what YOU ask for (imagine?!) while not attempting to do things that your hair type can’t pull off. She’s super funky with all these cool haircuts but doesn’t judge or make me feel like less of a person for wanting long dreamy waves. Plus she’s super friendly and remembers all these things about me as a person.
I do suppose that salon reviews are stylist specific and that it’s hit or miss for most places. But I like how I can walk into the Styling Company and feel comfortable, not like in some high end salons with all their pretenses. And I love how I know that next time I need a haircut, my super stylist is just up the road!
