While the service was medocure; the mixed drinks and food were terrible. They used tomato juice in my Caesar and while advertising wings at half price on a street sign I was charged full price(server said the offer did not apply) and they were vary over cooked. I think regulars are treated much better than someone off the street; I won’t be back.

This place was great, excellent happy hour and daily specials, good craft cocktails and beer selection plus a friendly and helpful staff. Bonus, good spot to watch sports.

I remember coming here back in 07⁄08 before I moved up to Edmonton an always loved their fish an chips. An their tap Selection was pretty good as well. So I decided to take my girlfriend there for a Sunday breakfast an was really impressed an the food was pretty good an reasonable. Our waitress was good at coming along an asking if we needed any thing an kept my girlfriends ice t full an kept my water filled after I enjoyed one of the beers on tap. We be back on Monday to see how they do on their chicken wings.

Great little Irish Pub in Calgary. Up here from the states and stumbled upon this place with my wife. We had a couple of drinks, some nachos, and watched a game. Relaxed people and everyone was friendly. If I lived here, this would be my local place to go.

Monday night wing night — can’t go wrong with that. Service was prompt and food was good. It has a lively neighborhood vibe.

We went there for a Flames playoff game. The service was good, but a touch slow understandably. The wait staff was doing all they could in a packed house. The food was quite good. We had a group and shared a number of dishes — wings, meatballs, flatbreads and tacos. Each was quite good. The pub is nothing fancy but the food is worthwhile, the beer is cold and the atmosphere is what you want for a nice night out with friends.

Came here for the super bowl. All the tables were reserved but offered us seats by a window and about 45 minutes later were moved to a table. We had drinks and food with very nice fast service. The nachos are huge! Can feed 2 – 3 people easy. It was a little noisy but it was the super bowl after all. This was my first time going out with a new roommate of mine and didn’t realize how much a cheap drunk he was and ended up puking on the table(oops) The staff was awesome and helped us and cleaned it all up super fast. They were very kind with what happened but obviously it was time for us to leave. Can’t ask for better understanding staff then at the St James corner!

Good neighbourhood bar around the corner. Typical pub grub food but a little pricey for what you get. Attentive staff with a large selection of beers but again pricey and notice the smaller glass. Good for watching a game or for Friday after work.

This was my first visit to this pub and for me it is just another pub as many others around the corner. I went there for lunch and was surprised that they have no lunch menu like many other places. The prices were therefore steeper compared to other places as I was basically ordering from the dinner menu. My food was nothing extraordinary and I had the bad luck to find a long hair on my plate(disgusting!). The hair was inside a sausage so the cook wasn’t to blame for it. That’s why I didn’t make a fuss about it but for the future I will continue exploring other places and not return here so fast…

Lacking in service had to flag down the waitress a few times, food underwhelming … Chips were stale and soggy … wet veggies were placed on top of them? steak bites over cooked, hot wings and sauce all over everything. Even the dips — not fantastic.

I came here with a group after a hockey game on a Friday night. The place was packed but somehow we found a table. There was a server who was helping out our table, but at some point she just stopped coming around to our table, which was confusing. Not a huge deal, we just went up to the bar. Stella was on special, so we didn’t end up spending too much. We ordered a plate of nachos for the table, and it was huuuuge. Also, tasty. Nothing really stood out to me as being overly great or overly terrible, which is why St. James corner gets an A-OK rating from me!

Great local pub! They have friendly wait staff, vibrant pub atmosphere and great specials! Mondays are 25 cent wing night, Tuesdays are fish taco night, Wednesdays are steak sandwich’s and it goes on. By far my favourite menu item is the fish taco’s! So good! Beats out the other pubs and even some Mexican restaurants!

Good service, nice ambiance, and good live music. Great special on Saturday night, $ 4 for a glass of the house wines. One day I’d like to check out their $ 19 nachos to see if they’re worth it…

Horrible service, rude staff, beer selection contrary to what others say is not very good. Wouldn’t know what the food is like because we waited for over a half hour with empty glasses hoping to order food, and had the waitress walk past several times, with her even making eye contact, and then breaking it to go chat with her fellow waitresses. It’s a shame, because I frequent the area a lot, and they won’t be getting my business again. Yes, this was during the Stampede, but there were empty tables in the bar, so that is absolutely no excuse.

Went yesterday morning for brunch before heading off to the World of Wheels. I had the smoked salmon eggs benny and boyfriend had the breakfast clubhouse. both came with a side of hash browns. It was great. there was only 2 downfalls. 1. My eggs benny had that nuclear yellow hollandaise sauce that comes out of a box and you just add water too… 2. there was no where to sit and when we attempted to go upstairs to sit they said it was closed, so we ended up sitting at a table and waiting for the server to clean it up. The service was great and the food was good, and the baileys and coffee was spot on, just what we needed.

This is my first ever Unilocal review and I thought, what better way to start of than to review my favorite pub. It is probably a contributing factor that it is two blocks from my apartment, but that’s only the reason that I started to go there. I am there every Monday evening for their Wing Night, they have great wings, limited flavors, but the classics, none of those fancy wing flavors that nobody is too sure about. I have been going there for over two years and they have continually had great service, friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. St. James is not fancy, but the food is a higher standard and a lower price than that of other similar pubs. They always have an excellent seasonal menu, tempting weekly specials and a good selection of beers on tap. Try their Macaroni and request Jalepenos(YUM), pop in on a Sunday for an affordable brunch, or stop by on a Tuesday for the BEST Fish Tacos, just $ 2 each!

I had an hour to waste before my seven o’clock plans commenced, so therefore I decided to check out St. James Corner Restaurant & Irish Pub since I was in the area. I walked in and was greeted by the hostess; I barely had time to let my eyes adjust to the darker lit venue before she asks me if I was meeting some friends. I tell her no and that it’s just me tonight. What I found weird was — after I tell her this, she says to follow her and we head upstairs. She then sits me at a large booth made for 6 people in the back corner when there was a couple small tables/bar stools available downstairs! This just made me feel kind of isolated and out of place. I started to look at the menu and I have to say everything sounded delicious and just reading what they had available made me want to go back and try the food. I ended up just ordering a bottled beer and sipping… at my table for six in the corner… thinking«no one puts baby in the corner»(kidding, but not really)
