The smallest donair I have had in Calgary… Also very plain on ingredients and the price is the same of the big ones. I definitely would prefer to have a donair everywhere else but here… Wouldn’t go back there, unless I have too.

Okay to start off I’d like it be known that I come from the land of shwarma. No not Lebanon, Windsor Ontario. There is literally a shwarma place on every block. So of course I am used to amazing shwarma. As a rule, Calgary’s shwarmas suck. Most of the places I’ve been to all serve bland crap that is the size of a small child. Sichani’s is different, they do it right and their«home-made» hot sauces and greek dressing are phenomenal. I’ve had the Lamb Souvlaki, Donair and Shwarma and they are all amazing.

It’s been far too long since I’ve had a donair. So when I was wandering through the Kingsland Farmer’s Market I gave this place a try. The donair was solid. The ingredients were fresh and it was pretty tasty. I found the price to be a little high though. It was almost $ 6.50 for the small. For this price I would have expected a healthier-sized portion of meat. The owners were friendly and quickly had my delicious wrap in my hands. I would definitely eat here again, but with so many other vendors in the market to try it might wait to give these guys another go.

How is it that I haven’t reviewed this place. And I’m pretty sure I’ve eaten here before any Unilocaler(thats right… heh) The only place in the Kingsland Market area to get donair, falafel, and any other Mediterranean eats. Rightfully so because if you decide this was the place to put up your own stand you will LOOOSE to these sweet and people. Really they’re very nice. A great couple who always shared stories as they neatly packed your wrap with fresh goodness and tasty meat. I’ve had their falafel and shawarma numerous times and spent many afternoons at work in a comatose mode. Thank goodness I only go out for lunch on Fridays otherwise I’d never get any work done! The prices are fair and this is one of the cheapest places you can stop by in order to get a wholesome lunch. I’m looking forward to stopping by again and having their salads. 9⁄30 — Underdog Challenge

Ate here during my first trip to Kingsland Farmers Market and ordered Falafel Plate B. It consisted of 3 falafel balls, a toasted pita, rice and a greek salad. I liked that they asked me first if I wanted feta or not! Most places don’t bother and pile it on, even if I request«no feta» at the till while ordering. The greek vinaigrette was spot on. The falafel balls would have been great if they were a little lighter, I found them to be incredibly dense and filling, with a similar consistency to the kind you get at Superstore — but not as bitter as the Superstore balls. The staff and what appeared to be the owner were very warm and friendly, so I will probably make this a regular stop during my trips to the Farmers Market :).
