Work nearby and thought we would stop in for lunch and enjoy a noodle pool. Reasonable prices, friendly service and authentic spices.

Amazing that a place like this exists in Calgary. We had an awesome evening drinking various types of oolong and black Chinese teas, and doing the tea ceremony. The tea is of very high quality, and at roughly $ 10 for a pot, is a bargain for a few people to share and enjoy the experience. A lovely spot to learn about tea!

Have you ever been inside a Chinese tea house? Me neither. Is there even such a thing? I have no idea, but I suspect if there were, it would be a lot like this one. To the right as you walk in the door, there are bigger tables of four with walls and bamboo curtains separating each booth and a more open space to the left. Let the owner know its your first time in and he’ll give you a tour of the tea set at the table and a lesson in tea. If nothing else, you HAVE to come check out the tea table. You can boil the water for your tea to your desired temperature and even refill the tea pot from a jug of water underneath the table.
The menu is an array of Oolong, Black and Green teas on one side, some less «traditional» flavoured teas («Because we need to please some local customers too» explained the owner) and a series of light snacks on the back side. This isn’t a place you’d stop for lunch, but rather to relax and take your time with the tea.
Tip: Using the whole fancy tea table is marked on the menu as a «set» and will cost around $ 20 per set depending on the kind of tea you try. A pot with some loose leaves in it will go for between $ 7-​$ 10 and comes with a thermos of hot water so you can refill your own pot at least 3 times.
The other bonus is they have free wifi, and the code is at the bottom of the menu on the back. So come on in with your laptop and stay awhile.
