Cute mini Indigo. Almost too mini because in some places you can get trapped by other shoppers trying to navigate. My favourite part of my recent visit was almost getting knocked over by a staff member who was rushing to help someone else find a kids book. She said excuse me just as she flew into me. No apology or anything. The customers she was helping quickly pushed past me then they all got stuck in the corner. Kind of reminded me of Pacman when all the ghosts get stuck somewhere in the maze. But I digress. Selection was ample. Pushing– you-over salespeople aside, the checkout ladies were both very nice. For a «big box» chain, I would expect their prices to be a bit better on some things(like kids books). If I was desperate to buy a book or a gift item in a hurry(and I knew exactly what I wanted to get) I might stop here during the work day. Otherwise I’d skip it.

Stumbled by this location while on my lunch break, I wanted to waste some time and that I did! The selection is pretty good for a smaller downtown location I thought! They even had a small novelty gift section.

With Independent Bookstores such as Pages and Shelf Life within decent walking distance from here, there’s really no need to go into this Downtown Indigo unless you want to kill time and/or shamelessly inflate ones review numbers. Guess What? :) Let’s just say I met the personal experience requirement, but barely. I browsed through the shelves, recoiled at the mall feel of this place, tried but failed to buy something, and soon enough found myself back on the street and temporarily stymied in my search for literary nerdvanna.

I walk though this book store to kill time when downtown. This time I purchased a Lonely Planet Southeast Asia on a Shoestring book for $ 32.54. It’s always fun to go here and browse through the gifts such as board games, stuffed animals and a number of trinkets. The selection of popular books here is pretty good considering its size. You’ll find everything from Catch 22 to Kinsinger’s On China. It’s sad bookstore are going the way of the dodo bird. They can be fun places of discovery. With that I retire to the ebooks on my tablet. 22⁄30 Unilocal 30 Day Challenge
