Chatime is a great bubble tea joint. In addition to offering dozens of flavours, Chatime allows you to customize sugar levels, ice levels and choose from several types of «bubbles». For a refreshing, not-too-sweet, drink, I recommend the grapefruit tea at 50% sweetness with grass jelly.

Wow is all I can really say about this place! It’s the best bubble tea I’ve ever had. It is actually TEA, most other places it’s just different kinds of fruit juice etc. The only down side is they only take cash & debit. I really wish there was one in Edmonton I’d be going everyday… maybe it’s better that way, I might go broke.

This famous chain serves various Taiwanese drinks, I don’t think they have any food although I can’t be sure. I have only tried a few of their drinks and they are pretty good. I think my favourite I’ve had is cold pearl milk tea. The cold jasmine milk tea was also quite good. However, any time I’ve had hot drinks I wasn’t super impressed. I thought that they tasted mostly like milk and a lot of the tea flavour was lost in the heating. My only other complaint is that I think their sizes are rather small for the price(a small/regular milk tea is around $ 5). I still think it’s the perfect cold drink to try for during those upcoming hot summer days!

On my trip to the westcoast, we were sorely missing our regular Chatime fix. Luckily we happened to visit Calgary and found the one and only Chatime in the vicinity. This location was much more low key than what I was used to in Toronto. The décor was very simple and almost looked under-decorated. I guess I’m just used to the Toronto locations. In any case, the bbt was just as good and consistent with what I was used to. They even had some items on the menu that we don’t have in Toronto. I tried the Hawaiian Fruit Tea with grass jelly(no sugar of course). It was really good with bits of pulp and fruit. They should add that to the Toronto locations. Also had my usual #2 except they don’t have a top ten menu so I just ordered it like any other drink. They also had a super cup size which was crazy. It was as large as a slurpee cup from 7-eleven. I don’t know if that’s ever necessary or all that healthy but it was nice to see something different. The staff there were a bit slow but since it wasn’t too busy, it didn’t take too long. I could imagine they’d be in trouble if it was busier though. It was worth the trip just to get our fix of good bbt.

The roast leaves milk tea here tastes amazing, I think the favor and variety here can’t be compared. The location here is good, but somehow I still feel the space is narrower than others.

Yay! It’s another Chatime. This one doesn’t have free wi-fi though. Convenient location right by the 300 bus stop, so it’s good for tourists.

Huge variety of Taiwanese roasted milk tea options that allow you to customize the sugar and ice amounts. If you are a fan of milky teas then this place is for you! If you are like me and drink your coffee without sugar and/or your teas with milk and minimal amounts of sugar then I would recommend about 50−80% sugar would be sweet enough. Some notes: — matcha red bean green tea: matcha flavor is nice and mild, red bean in drink will really fill you up — taro is made with real taro and done very well If you want something less heavy they do offer some fruitier selections as well. Also just a note but if you sign up for their rewards program it costs $ 1 but after ten drinks you get a free one. Requires a phone number and ChaTime will send subscription messages

I was sooooo stoked when I found out Calgary got their very own Chatime location. I first tried Chatime out in Toronto and I was extremely impressed by their drink offerings. All about the customization! There are a ton of drinks to choose from such as fresh juice, milk tea, mousse, fruit tea, fresh tea, chatime jelly, oriental pop tea, smoothie and coffees. An exhausting list if you take a close look. My favourite thing about Chatime is that you can custom your drink to your liking. Sugar options(0, 30%, 50%, 80%, regular or 120%) and ice(0%, 80%, regular or 120%). If you’re an indecisive moffo, than check out the screens up front where their most popular drinks are shown. The place was busy on a late Friday night when we went with the line close to the door. But it moved quickly and we actually didn’t have to wait long to get our drinks. Just grab a seat at the table/counter and chilllll. — Chatime Roasted milk tea with grass jelly($ 5.50 large) — the roasted milk tea is freakin’ delicious. Seriously, if you haven’t had it before, get one immediately. I had mine with grass jelly and decided to try 50% sugar and regular ice. I think next time I’ll try 80% sugar and 80% ice. — Matcha redbean milk tea($ 5.75 large) — my friend had the matcha redbean milk tea. Upgrading to large drinks costs an extra $ 0.50. It tasted just like matcha. With the redbean toppings, this one was more on the heavy side drink wise. I’m pretty jealous that Calgary has a Chatime and Edmonton still has crap for bubble tea options. The hours are pretty good(11am to 10pm/11pm) and the location is prime if you want to grab a quick BBT before/after dinner. I’ll be back soon!

A super long line up on the first day it opened, and it always closed at 9pm(closing at 10pm on weekdays and at 11pm on weekends now) so I did not try it until last month. Love it ! I love they put a sticker on the drink to make sure what we are ordering and getting from them. Clear options of what I can pick for ice and sweetness! Oh!!! and they also provide the calorie info of each drink! I have tried oolong milk tea, roasted milk tea and chocolate mousse! love the chocolate mousse but do not like the roasted milk tea.

I’ve had Chatime in California, so I made a beeline here when I saw it in Chinatown. Yet, even I’m a bit stunned with the price here for boba(which is on par with the rest of Chinatown, but still…). The tea here is great and the pearls are perfectly chewy. We got a taro milk tea and a jasmine milk tea. Jasmine tea is strong and just sweet enough. Taro is very chunky(real taro!) which is great if you’re a taro fan, but I admit it is a bit hard to finish. You can adjust sugar level if you want too!

Chatime, you complete me. One of the beauties of working close to Chinatown is the incredibly diverse selection of food and drink spots to go to during the lunch hour. When Chatime first opened up here, everyone was raving about it. But after coming here several times, this place absolutely rocks. My usual go-to is the roasted milk tea, which is delicious. Today, I tried the Matcha Red Bean which was also amazingly delicious. This place seems a bit cleaner than Try Again and arguably, tastes a bit better too. I used to think that Vancouver had the best bbtea here in Western Canada … but Chatime, you win.

It sure lives up to its hype! I’ve only tried it once and I’m hooked! Their signature Chatime milk tea is so creamy and unlike other generic milk teas from other BBT joints. I got half sugar and extra ice with coffee jelly. WHOA explosion of taste in my mouth! The coffee jelly is nothing short of perfection. It is not too soft, not too gooey, not too firm. It tastes just right with the perfect texture! It’s quite a long wait even if it doesn’t seem too busy. They seem to be a little slow in making the drinks but hey, I guess perfection comes with a price right? I am kicking myself for not discovering this place while I was in Toronto.

Mmm, taro bubble tea with actual real taro. Most bubble tea places use powdered flavouring, everything here seems use actual fresh ingredients. I also like the fact that you can ask for more or less sugar, and more or less ice in your drink. Its like the Starbucks of the bubble tea world, which can be bad if you’re in a rush… The wait times are unfortunately long. Quality takes time I suppose. But when everyone starts to order taro red bean, half ice, half sugar, no bubbles, venti frapachino drinks(I made up the last part), it starts to get a little slow. But overall, I’d prefer to come here over any other place in the city. Everything just tastes better.

Like others said, it’s a pretty lovely place to hang out. I love their roasted milk selections. However, one thing I’d like to point out is that they don’t use fresh fruit at all. So if u prefer bubble tea with fresh fruit — Try Again would still b the better choice. Totally unbiased here.

What time is it Mr. Wolf… CHATIME!!! Customized bubble tea?! Yes please!!! ROASTED milk tea?! Double yes please!!! You can adjust the amount of sugar, and the amount of ice added to your drink(e.g. 50% sugar, 20% ice). I had 50% sugar and it was still too sweet for me. Their specialty, though, is their Roasted Milk Tea. Hmmm mmm. So much more flavour when it is roasted. Also, they soak their bubbles in sugar water which makes the bubbles more tasty. One person ordered lychee yogurt drink, it was good but they kinda skimped on the yogurt… would have preferred more yogurt for more flavour :( This is a franchise bubble tea business from Taiwan.

Cha-time tea has an awesome selection of customizing your drink, from sugar to ice to toppings. To change the course of your winters cold day, try the Cha-time roasted milk tea hot with a topping with grass jelly! Thank me later :)
