At $ 20 for a ticket in the main bowl, you can have first row seats at a fraction of the cost of most other entertainment. This is quality hockey — at least as good as we’re going to get in Calgary right now. Games this season seem a bit more busy, perhaps due to people trying to get their fill of hockey in spite of the NHL lockout. The Calgary Flames own the Hitmen now though, so it really doesn’t make a big difference. One of the original founders of the Hitmen was Bret«The Hitman» Hart, and that’s where the inspiration for their name came from. As far as the venue goes, there could be improvements. The saddledome is showing her age and either needs some updating or replacement(as rumored). The food isn’t the greatest, and the beer selection is subpar. But I can’t dock the Hitmen stars for this, because they play in the best arena that is currently available in Calgary. All in all, if you are looking for an inexpensive night out, eat first and then snag some Hitmen tickets. You won’t be disappointed! Review #13 of Unilocal’s 30 Day Review Challenge 2012

Hitmen hockey is really good value. I recently got Flames season tickets, so I had to let my Hitmen season tickets go. Only because I can’t spend every night at the dome! The value is great, its a fun atmosphere with lots of kids and the hockey is really good. If you’ve never been to the teddy bear toss game, make sure you go. One of the most amazing things I’ve ever been part of!

A — List. Highly Recommended. The best bang for the buck in town(assuming you like hockey) is without a doubt the Calgary Hitmen @ the Saddledome. The action is fast-paced and the players are skilled. In addtion, you will get many of the extras that you might see at a Flames game: big screen entertainment, lots of noise from the loud speaker system, non-stop advertisements on the electronic wrap-around board, prize giveaways to audience members(brain freeze slush competition, skill-testing questions), kiss cam, little guys & gals hockey game at intermission and, of course, Farley the mascot walking, running, sitting, climbing, balancing and hitting(his very loud drum) his way around the Dome. This is an excellent opportunity for families to get out and into the Dome for an afternoon or evening event. You can purchase your tickets online through ticketmaster. With ticketmaster, you can save if you input the Friends of the Hitmen code. I found a code for an upcoming game by wandering to JACK. FM’s facebook page( ). Playoff tickets for 2 cost $ 27.75(including the print the tickets yourself option) in full with seats in the corner and 3 rows from the glass. Those same seats to the Flames will cost $ 160 per seat through ticketmaster. You can also get tickets through 7 – 11 stores at a substantial discount. Support the Hitmen! Get out of the house! Have Fun!
