Buhran is a shop I just happened upon the other day while near 17th avenue. Presently it has up to 50% discounts throughout the whole store till the end of January because it will then close its doors. And let me tell you my disappointment because this is simply one of Calgary’s unique treasures because it carries unique treasures. How about wooden doors from the 18th century from France, or an original authentic wooden Buddha from an actual temple that is well over 100 years old. I was actually contemplating buying one on EBay so imagine the joy to find one here in Calgary, it saves me shipping and not knowing if I am actually buying an authentic ceremonial piece. At Buhran the shop is filled with furniture, and carpets and architectural details coming directly from the small villages of Asia and Europe. I was delighted in actually an amazing wooden pillow book from Japan that was over 150 years old. Buhran also carries modern copies of original items for less money. This really is your last chance to add a very special detail to your home or collection, remember the store closes end of January so make your way down there and please check out my photos of the wares in the store.
